I’ve known Tom since before he joined up with the Duke’s show. He’s an awesome guy, a master mechanic that made those cars do what he wanted. I was privileged to be able to visit the set several times and witness those great jumps and the “family “ type atmosphere. I love the fact that Tom and others are keeping the show alive. Go Tom!

I love his comment in the Confederate flag. I agree 100% on your comment that it is not racist. As a matter of fact I've seen black folks wearing the flag in belt buckles shirts or whatever. That right there should show folks that it's not a racist symbol. I love the flag and what the flag actually means.

John Schneider in a recent video said that in the original script for dukes! That the general lee was originally confederate gray! I would of loved to a seen that version of the charger!

Jumping chargers keeps you young - look great for 70!

Consider this statement. when Dukes went on tv, the 69 charger was 10 years old and they were so common, they were everywhere their value was nothing. But after the show was over everybody wanted one and the most important thing is, companies are making body panels for all the charger years that didn't happen before the Dukes were famous.

wait a minit ! I thought Crazy Cooter was the mechanic .... that guy could fix the smashed front end in the middle of a jump somehow ... the car landed all crunched yet drove off straight as an arrow it was Amazing . ! ..

You ask Tom about those who say that the Dukes is responsible for destroying Chargers, If you look at how the Charger market has evolved over time, even in the mid to late 1990's which was more then a decade after the show wrapped up in 1984, Chargers where still affordable enough that a working class person could buy one! And you saw more of them around since they weren't as collectible as they are today!

"they let off the gas" yeah not all the time, if you looked at general lee charger jump compilation videos you can see that they are still full throttle most of the time when they jump.

Did they use any charger 500 i am sure i seen one with the rear window was flush with the rear pillars
@MartintheTinman4 жыл бұрын
I've never seen one. It's definitely a question that needs to be answered. Years ago nearly all the models of the General Lee were Charger 500's and some of the diecast toys

@@danohstoolbox . It actually makes sense that the boys would have a Charger 500 because the recessed back window created a low pressure zone that made the rear end unstable at high speeds and that's why they developed the Charger 500. To eliminate the low pressure zone and make it a better race car and seeing as the General Lee is meant to be the boys racing car you'd think it should be the 500

What they ought to do is take a card from Disneys stunt car shows. Make some of those miniatures look like the general and sheriff's cars and do a good stunt show without destroying the cars.

The dirty Mary crazy Larry charger was much faster and the performance scene charger was totalled by one of the staff members wife on the way to work... Sad but true

If it wasnt for that show most of those Charger's would have been crashed just by careless teens driving them! If it want for that show people never would have saved these when they were in a crash or needed work...Even today you can find rusted,crashed Charger's that were sitting since 1988 with 300,000 miles and were driven hard!! But they kept them just because of the show!

300+ ....68s, 69s, a few 1970 models. Most bought just for parts. Auto Traders from LA area, warm off the press...and Warner Bros. cash. Many were wrecks from LA area scrap yards (not called junk yards). Wired in center bar for 68 models used for front end shots (chases), to look like 69s. IF no engine/transmission...cars were towed by wire from camera rig vehicles.

Apart from the interior not being tan, the flag is on backwards. The stars are supposed to be pointing towards the drivers side not the passengers.

That flag is beauty, as a simple flag that is. Colours, stars, and what anyone will see staring at it. And, more, this beauty flag stands for so many valours, but not racism. These are mainstream madnesses and idiotic mass hysteria.
