Nope, this isn’t the “Don’t Hit the Dart” Dart, it’s another part of the collection on the Dulcich Dog Farm. You may have seen this stripped hulk of a Mopar lurking in the background of multiple episodes of Roadkill Garage, and now you’ll know the backstory.
We’ve provided this free episode on KZbin to give you a taste of Roadkill Extra so you can decide if you'd like to subscribe for more episodes.

I could listen to Freiburger talk about car history for hours. These are great. I hope they continue, but in the current laid back way they are made and presented. Good stuff.

Of all the muscle cars I owned, the funnest to drive was a '70 340 four speed Dart. Every stoplight was a drag race, every windy road was Laguna Seca and every parking lot was an autocross course in that car.

In the early 80's I worked at a pick-your-part junk yard, and cars like this were being brought in all the time. I was a car nut, and often bought these cars from the tow truck drivers before they were sold to the junk yard. There were lots of 340 cars which came in, my favorite was a '71 340 'cuda, running and drivable for $150. My daily driver was a '70 Polara highway patrol car, with the 440 Magnum HP2 (6 pack bottom end). Then there was a '70 Challenger convertible, not an R/T, but with a H code factory 340. In those years I bought perhaps 50 to 60 old muscle cars, and resold them. At least they didn't get crushed. I had half a dozen Roadrunners, as many Chargers, lots of Darts, Demons, and Dusters, an occasional GTO, and, the most interesting, a 327 powered Austin Healey 3000.

We had a '72 when I was growing up then in about 89 my dad pulled it in the garage to do the body, paint, interior and all the suspension he drove it for about 5 more years then sold it to a family friend who blew up the trans within a week of owning it and parked it. He got a re-man trans but never installed it so one day I I asked him what he was going to do with it and ended up giving me the car. I replaced the trans and drove it for a few years then sold it to a older guy who still drives it. I don't know why I shared this long boring story but every time I see one of these cars I think of my dad... Rest in peace pop's love you and miss working on cars with you

Anyone else, find the comments as entertaining, as the actual video. Key board warriors keep popping in with comments, and they have no clue how to check the oil level on moms Kia. 340, 4 spd., A body. I love it. Hasn't seen Canadian winter seasons. They have no clue how desired this car is. My preference is the 67-69 A body.

I can call this car junk because at the end of the day it does not matter how desired a car is if it is going to rot on a farm (Sure being in a nice place like that it won't rot for a long time) but i doubt Dolsich will restore this, i see this as being one of those classical "I got too many projects going on right now." or if it does get "Restored" they will throw another engine in and say "It's done!" when there is a 10 inch hole in the floor. remember Dolsich has a lot on his plate, so i would not be suprised if this car dies a sad lonely death.

Bro had a 1971 Dart Swinger with the slant 6. Lots of memories on that old beater. Front wheel assembly completely cracked off at 70+ mph driving down an interstate. No one hurt, thankfully, although the wheel, drum, backing plate flew across 3 lanes of traffic and ended up in the ditch. Some guys bought it off him and were going to use it for a hot rod with big power.

I offer a case of beer and I'll pick it up. So many people are like 'this part is worth this, etc, etc.' I just want to put an engine and trans in it, fix brakes, put in some lights, and just drive it as is. I love the beat to crap rust look and underneath is $20,000 worth of drive line. Fantastic.

See, I Love the 70 & 71 Darts better than all the previous Dart models. I like seeing when some people build custom 70 & 71 convertibles from 67, 68, and 69 drop tops. The Rally dash for A bodies looks great. The generic, run of the mill square dash looks like cheap crap. Well worth the effort to switch out.

Went overseas in the military and within a year got a letter from home which had a check in it for almost no money at all and a note saying "Your Dad sold your car." ha ha , living in canada that is a no brain er. the garbage laying around in the u.s. is heart breaking to your coldest is our warmest part of the country perspective. i was born in quebec and did you know a certain Europein brand used to lend for free car's to test how it they hold up to rust because of what they put on the roads in the winter? i personally sent 2 cars to the scrap yard because it had no floor(plywood) and was bending in the middle. both had just around 100 thousand on the clock. and no that is not in mile's . yes it would take money but it is worth saving and spending money for something they do not make/sell anymore. i just picked up my #9 refuge from the past. a rusty but 80% complete 65 Rustang 4 speed convertible for a Canadian Monopoly c-note, with its papers. anybody in b.c./Alberta Canada have a cheap/issues 1985 -5.0. manual for sale?

barath4545 absolutely, you're right on point....i'm not sure a dodge dart swinger, even with a desirable engine/trans package is worth all that much...chrysler's 340 was well received when it came out, as it had performance potential and it was not hit with a lot of high insurance premiums as the bigger motors were....but the dodge dart swinger itself was irredeemably light weight....cute but not serious...like a VW bug with flower decals...oops, now i've done it...

I would love to buy it, but the humidity where I live would eat that car in a year.

curious what real money is in terms of how much ? not gonna go chase down a price when its not something this illinois boy will ever see .... but just curious because i had a 73 swinger with that lousy slant 6 and column shift , was still a really good body design. feel free to chime in people ?

at the end of the day it's not a car to make money off of it is a passion car being the cost that will go into it is more than its worth but that's not a issue if you're the guy that loves it and won't sell it
