Dulles Greenway Eagle Cam: Rosa and Martin Take On a Masked Bandit

Dulles Greenway Eagle Cam 02-01-2023: A raccoon has visited the nest several times during the dark of night. Today it started its evening rounds a little early, while Rosa and Martin were there. Our eagle couple was NOT pleased to have an uninvited guest, particularly as it gets close to egg-laying time, and they let the raccoon know their "no visitors" rule in very clear terms!

Yes they are missed by so many! One thing cams have showed us over time is that change at eagle nests is much more common than many had thought.

Omg this is giving me flashbacks to the Fort St. Vrain nest where a raccoon took an eaglet and the mama had to flush him out so it didn’t get the other eaglet.
