My mother and her two sisters were born and raised in Duluth in the early 1900's. My parents and my two sisters started visiting with the relatives when we were very young. It was always very exotic to us to experience the "world of Duluth" and surrounding atmosphere. I'm now 73 and have fond memories of falling asleep as a child listening to the fog horns when staying at our relatives. Nice video........sigh

Excellent video, very polished! My mother was one of three sisters born and raised in Duluth, therefore I started coming to Duluth around my 5-6th birthday from Milwaukee Wi. As me and my two sisters grew up we would visit my aunt and uncle and my grandparents. Eventually we would be left up there while my parents went back home for a couple of weeks. We loved it and didn't miss them as there were many exotic things to do and see. There are other compelling places to add to the clips that you've shown. I can give you an extended list of intellectual, historical, artistic, cultural, natural, educational, physical, visual, gustatorial and more places and activities that would make for very diverse and captivating additional video subjects thorough all the seasons. And I can PROVE it!

@beasttamer19048 жыл бұрын
Hey I know the winters are long there, but how much do you have to deal with super cold temperatures? Freezing or below is what I mean by super cold.
@hpiechow18 жыл бұрын
Beast Warrior Fall turns into winter in about October and last at least until April, though it's snowed in June before. Of course, every year is different and it's much harder to predict the weather due to the lake effect. In the summer is always cooler by the lake and in the winter it's a tad warmer by the lake, since it's so large it never fully freezes and acts as a temperature stabilizer.
@beasttamer19048 жыл бұрын
Hmm, okay. I'm thinking of moving there, because I miss the seasons. Where I'm originally from the winters weren't quite that long, so that would be an adjustment. We'll see, thank you.
@hpiechow18 жыл бұрын
Beast Warrior it's a stunning place to live but I am not a winter person so I left after college. But, if you like winter and love hiking and outdoorsy stuff, it's the place for you.

Yeesh - how can such a lovely video precipitate such negative and vulgar remarks? People can be so awful. Very lovely - I am Duluth - crazy and go there often - it is nirvana to me. However, it is true, some of those shots were well up the North Shore, (e.g. Tettegouche State Park) so maybe a different title would be in order. I do have a question about that first waterfall tho. I am quite sure that cannot be in Duluth or anywhere in Northern Minnesota - the rocks are the wrong kind. It looks like Minneopa Falls in Mankato.
@SethButler7 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, You are correct. Not all of the shots were in Duluth. I have the reason why I named it this and had additional shots outside of Duluth in the description. The waterfall at the beginning is Minnehaha falls in Minneapolis. Every shot in the video is special to the family whom I went with. Thank you for your kind words. It agree that although all of the imagery is not true to the title that people should just enjoy it.

Great beach's and beach towns.Can find waves to ride too. (Great Lakes Surfing Association) Fishing like no place else,sunsets that rival the Key's, and the best beach bar in history,Marge's lake Side, on the beach in Rochester NY.(Key West North). Stay in a Light House.Put In Bay, on Lake Erie,and there are more miles of shore line on the "North Shore than there are on either the East,South or West shore's.Port Huron Float Down,is a WOW event. Duluth Lift Bridge park,see the Lake Freighters pass through why go anyplace else than the Great Lakes.
