Phil. I got to try this out about two years ago. I was keen to try it and managed to convince a client to give it a go. I wanted to know if it was crap or something I’d be happy to use. Absolutely loved it. Great to apply, no issues with opacity ( I ve used various colours now ) no issues with framing or application. It’s lovely plus the client gets a great finish. Win win. Great for us as pro decorators and clients delighted with the look. Excellent. I try to use it everywhere.

Fantastic! only downside is Dulux said the velvet matt isn't suitable for kitchens... even though its sold as a durable paint. ... they recommend the eggshell, not sure you'd want that on the walls in a kitchen lol and yes, we've had issue with the matt wiping off and easy scraping off with your nail in a kitchen :(

Johnstones cleanable. Finishes like a spray finish, no brush/ roller marks. My go to paint. Just finished a new build. Demonstrated how marks can be wiped off, bless the carpet fitters. Customers were over the moon. I'm getting 10 litres for the same price as you get Heritage for 5 litres. Food for thought Phil. Keep the vids coming mate.

@ProfessionalPainterDecorator2 жыл бұрын
Hi, it really depends on teh surface you're going on, if it's been cheap contract matt paint before, you may need a bit of water to aid it's application. If going over the same paint or a similar quality paint you might find it goes on fine, straight out the can. Do a test area out the way, to see how it feels when you first put it on.
@ubaydahghaznawi35712 жыл бұрын

@@ubaydahghaznawi3571 Id say use a new plaster primer wash coat... Tikukurila Optiva Primer. Or even NoNonsence bare plaster primer from ScrewFix as your first coat. Then away you go with tye Velvet Matt. You may find a slight thinning of the first coat of velvet matt may help you with a smoother application of the paint.

We have 3 kids and are looking to repaint the living room which is in F&B Banscha Green Estate Emulsion (we use it as a TV snug room) - love the colour, but you even so much as look at it and it marks terribly. We're looking at this paint in a similarly dark red. It says washable, but how resistant is it to finger marks etc? Is the eggshell better for walls in that regard? Although that generally seems to be marketed for woodwork as far as I can see. Thanks.
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator2 ай бұрын
Hi, F&B Modern Emulsion is better for walls, TBH. Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt is a good paint, also look at my play list of product tasting, loads of durable matt paints have been tested.. all very good. Fora house with kids, not breaking the bank, look at Albany Durable, Jonhstones Durable, Macphersons durable matt paints. If you do want to be different... look at LICK PRO eggshell.... I've used that earlier this year on my walls at home... a slight sheen, but paring it with your woodwork as well, then teh Lick Pro Matt for the ceiling does give you a toatlly different modern look to a room.
