I'm surprised it took us this long to get an episode with how many people have been calling for Mayo's job. People will get mad at the refs but maybe the team shouldn't spend a whole season still getting their act together because it continues to cost us multiple big plays that end up putting us in these close games just to lose.

Really, even if they lost on the challenge it would’ve given them a chance to set their defense on fourth down so there’s not much downside either way. It shouldn’t shock me anymore, but I’m always surprised how guys who have been around the game their entire lives continually screw up these kinds of situations.

I think that being a player may make it more difiicult to make those kind of game management decisions as they are used to having someone else making that decision. Even fans are better trained watching games on TV and listening to commentary hundreds of times.

@@bostonsports8080 You gotta learn how to read statistics a bit better since a lot of the reason why the Patriots have such a low number of passing yards is due to the games we had with Brisette under center, he was throwing for well under 200 yards every game so even with Maye throwing for well over 200 yards a game it's going to look bad.

His radio interview today was a masterclass in idiocy as well! Saying something to the effect that he is playing conservatively on offense to try and keep it a one-possession game to the end. So yeah, let's ignore the playmaking of Maye and have a chickens--t approach because...? Yeah that type of thought process might have worked in the 1980s. Just nonsensical in his decision-making and even after seeing the terrible results while being a statue on the sideline his press conferences and interviews actually make me feel WORSE!

LOL thank the refs you were clearly handed the game from the blatant missed helmet to helmet that even the announcer said was obvious and should have been a penalty to try and screw us out of a first down to you guys holding on every single play but somehow not getting called but we got called yeah you got handed it your quarterback is a bum btw glorified running back

I still believe Gannon not going for it on 4th and goal from inside the 5 with a little over 2 minutes left was a dumb decision as well as not going for 2. Both decisions lost the game.

I HATE kicking a field goal to go up 6. As Greg Olsen explained, now you compel the opponent play all 4 downs to go for a TD and a TD still beats you. Gannon took this to the extreme end--there were 3 minutes left, and you had it at the 1-yard line. There are times when kicking is defensible or mandatory--if it's 4th & 15 in FG range, and/or if there are only 30 seconds left and your opponent is unlikely to drive the field for a TD in that time. But this definitely wasn't it.
