@dennismonk95593 жыл бұрын
@@fredleeland2464 he was 5, parcells was 6. You forgot Chan Gailey, who was coach after Switzer. Campo coached for Jimmy Jonson with Miami and joined him on the cowboys, and stayed with the Cowboys when he left. When I thought of this video before you posted it, I was thinking it would be a Broncos game. However, I thought it would have been their game in 2006 against the Chiefs in the first night Thanksgiving game. The Broncos said that would be the last start for Jake Plummer as they would start Jay Cutler the next week. The Broncos lost to the Chiefs. They then lost three of their last five, losing a playoff spot in a tiebreaker to...wait for it... the Chiefs.

In the history of the Dallas Cowboys, I think it’s safe to say that Dave Campo is the worst HC they’ve ever had. All he had was three straight seasons of 5-11. That’s 15-33. Their defense was pretty good, but they had a lot of trouble being consistent on offense in those days. The QB position was like a revolving door of mediocre, on down to bad talent. The only decent QB once Aikman was done was Randall Cunningham and he was on his last legs, too.

McCarthy almost made an even worse error in the 2013 finale at Chicago. Down 8 with 11 minutes left, the Packers scored a TD and then kicked the extra point! Good thing for him that Rodgers connected with Cobb on 4th & 8.
@ajk3 жыл бұрын
I'd forgive that actually....given it was a 1 possession at the time of the score, and there were 11 minutes to play still, which is a long time. Getting the ball back down one with a shot at a field goal to win it, is not out of the realm of possibility there. This is way worse.

You see, it's funny that you should bring up Mike McCarthy when he pulled something damn near as stupid as what Campo did in this game. Down 0-20, the Cowboys were on the verge of an amazing comeback, having just scored a touchdown to make the game 30-39, trailing by nine points. Instead of going for the extra point to easily make it an eight point game, McCarthy sends the offense on the field to go for two and try to make it a seven point game. But they failed the conversion, meaning they trailed by two possessions instead of one, with a little over five minutes left in the fourth. If it weren't for the Cowboys amazingly recovering an onside kick down 37-39 and driving down to field to hit the game-winning field goal as time expired, McCarthy would have gotten just as much heat as Campo did. The best part about all of this? This video was uploaded in November 2020, while the Falcoms-Cowboys game happened in September of 2020, so the Mike McCarthy mention probably warranted a bit more than the fact that he was currently in his first season as the Cowboys head coach.

No you are WRONG kicking the field goal was the right call because of the amount of time left. It is going to take 2 possessions to win either way. By kicking the field goal you put yourself in position to win with a touch down and field goal, missing on a 2 pt conversion means you need 2 touchdowns. Any coach who plays for a tie with that much time left should be immediately fired

Absolutely the right call to go for it. Idk what planet you’re from where you’d rather be down by more (9) than less (8) but going for 2 and making it a 1 possession game is ALWAYS the right call. You never take multiple scoring possessions for granted. That’s stupid
