A few years ago my wife and I were at a popular rock pool. This area has countless signs saying not to jump as well as a gravestone for a young girl who had previously died jumping into the water and hitting a rock. While we were swimming here a guy jumped in and broke his spine, then began calling out for help. My wife and I immediately swam over to help, and with the help of about 5 other guys, we lifted him out of the water and got him an ambulence. Everyone knew it was his own fault for jumping, but that doesnt make it ok to leave him in the water unable to swim.

If I recorded you telling me to jump off a bridge, and my dead body gets found below the bridge the next day... would you suddenly be found guilty for manslaughter? You'd have to prove in court that either the accused genuinely wanted them dead, or had some sort of influence (like if she said she was going to break her legs if she didn't jump in the water) to force her into the water. Also, the defense would claim that the victim wasn't actually drowning, and they'll use this video (timestamp 0:30) to defend against said charges.

A kid at my gym had a seizure in the pool and drowned because the one person there (a middle-aged woman) just stood there and recorded him as he seized underwater. Didn't pull him out. Didn't call over the lifeguards inside just 50 ft away. Just watched him drown for 6 whole minutes. The lifeguards eventually noticed and ran out to resuscitate him, which they did. But later at the hospital, the doctors pronounced him completely brain dead, and his parents had to make the hardest decision in the world and pull the plug. I was at that pool all day and left about 20 minutes before it happened. I think about it every day. I honestly don't know if I should keep this comment up, but people please, if you see someone in danger or crying for help, please don't be like these people. DO SOMETHING.
