Not 100% sure, but if you marry while already in debt your partner doesn't inherit half of that debt. Same for money you already owned before the marriage. Usually for divorce settlements only the money that both earned DURING the marriage counts. For debt it will be the same thing. All these orders would be cancelled, it's literally just a code that was incorrectly set due to error and as per the terms of basically any site they would just cancel these orders. You are seriously implying a factory that supplies plushies is making them for free without being paid by the store owner (merchant) who also didn't get paid and the order DOES NOT EVER goto a factory to produce or to their warehouse to deliver already made stock unless the merchant approves. So you are welcome to goto say a site and order 10 million PLUSHIES with a free code and watch all 10 million get cancelled. Not only that, but stuff like this is usually done in batches where the merchant sends across approved orders to them be made at a certain time, which gives merchant time to cancel once more. They aren't just made 1 by 1 as soon as some buttons got on a website, hence why these plushie sale type things often take months sometimes over a year to be made and sent out, they do the whole batch in 1 go

MAYBE they could get a loan using the orders as collateral and build big enough facilities to ship the plushies but that would likely take years, which would probably make the orders elegible for refund, meaning they would never get the loans in the first place. Another option would be to hire other companies to help with productoon, but that would only work of their profit margins are high enough to cover that cost, and even just the time and personnel cost of handling that many orders would probably crush such a small business.

Usually there is a legal protection against these errors and it usually involves that promo codes are only valid until you ran out of stock. You claim one week later "i purchased it for 0$" as the store can say that they ran out of that limited promo. This varies depending on your country or state, but usually business are covered from this type of errors.
