luan is a skateboarding icon and idol in brazil, and i must say our crowd is... pretty crazy when it comes to viewership and hyping stuff up on the internet. i don't think it's too bold to assume this counts towards luan's stellar numbers on his battles. of course there are other exceptional skaters in the country but luan is just so good and charismatic it's basically unanimous that he's our national street skate treasure. i watched this video (couple of weeks ago - it's brilliant btw) honestly expecting him to be mentioned a lot in it. keep up the exceptional work! i work with statistics and data myself but sure as hell could never make it this fun.

The misunderstanding near the end of the Luan-Joslin match was easy to understand: Luan had tried to switch disco flip revert (switch heel body varial bs 180) twice earlier and bailed. He decided to settle down and just do it with no revert to reset himself to try throw the revert version in after. Joslin THOUGHT Luan was going for the revert a third straight time and so assumed Luan missed because he didn’t revert it. He asked Luan for confirmation after but mistook whatever Luan said or did (the crowd was deafening at this point and I’m sure Joslin couldn’t hear a thing) as a sign that Luan had missed and it was Joslin’s offense again.

BATB vids have only been on YT since 2014 The first 6 seasons must've been exclusively on the Berrics website, so when they batch dumped all the previous seasons onto YT to hype up season 7, most of the targeted viewers had already seen all the BATB 1-6 matches. This would likely explain low PJ Ladd view counts since his heyday was in early seasons. Same with the Mike V Cole battle
