It had been successful every time they tried it, while Lynch's TD percentage from that close to the goal line was actually rather low (If I remember correctly). I just like how this play has basically become a meme in NFL videos now though.

They run, he's stopped, now you have to use the TO and either pass on 3rd down, or run and that's the game not giving yourself another down. Haven't heard a single good, logical, football IQ reason why not to pass other than illogical assumptions. The problem wasn't the play call, it was very poor execution. If that pass is incomplete, they now have two down, a TO and don't have to rush either play. Two play, no worry about clock, they win, two plays, worry about clock, they lose. Your way, they have to rush if they don't make it. Also, if the Seattle player catches it, people like you comment on what a great play it was to call pass play for the winning score.
