Being bilingual (french-english), I love finding mistranslations in the wild. I've seen "choking hazard" translated to "dangerous shocks" (on a little glow in the dark offbrand lego-like thing from the dollar store) and also saw a label saying that my food was nut free... but not in the tree nut sense, in the nuts and bolts sense... (it was a bag of Stellas brand perogies if you want to look it up. Says "sans écrous" instead of "sans noix") I mean I sure hope there are none of those kinds of nuts in my food, but I don't really see a point in labeling it 🤣

Secondly, some Australian road signs are easy to vandalise because they are extremely old or non federally-standardised signs (like the one in the video, probably of local council origin). Even bog-standard yellow paint over the top would give this effect from afar.

I saw a couple of translation errors in a restaurant nearby, there’s a bun with milk custard or sweet potato or lotus paste filling, and they would decorate the outside of the bun. One of them is called 卡通奶黃包 which translates to “Cartoon milk custard bun’ but instead I saw “Cartoon milk bag” Another one is something-something-流沙包, and the English translation was “Sandbag” One hurt my brain, calling itself “Cow’s milk of milk”

There are a lot of these signs in Australia (pretty sure this one is too), they are typically 50-100m before the last turn off point to a bridge/overpass. If you hit the sign, then you know you have to turn off. Typically there's also a height sign nearby too.
