Bro. But like seriously? Wtf? You've demonstrated that you can count to ten. This is all literally just counting though. If you can count up, you can count down. After that, it's all reliant on your ability to use logic. Visualizations can help, but ultimately, I'm not doing you a service as your parent by telling you the answer to the problem. You can only hint so much before you're just doing it for them; and that can end up disrupting the child's ability to naturally grasp concepts and hurt their overall self reliance.

My dad grew up in the rural areas of cajun country. He didn't get spankings or hit with a flipflop or shoe. He was given a pocket knife and told to cut a switch. See, a switch is a long, very thin, very flexible tree branch. You cut one and bring it back and then you get a beating on the back end. Try to cheat and get one that's brittle and breaks? Then your mom goes out and cuts one of her own and you get twice as much. Its even worse if you piss grandma off because she'll get three of them and braid them together. Yo ass about be beat with a pleated braid. Once you're done, you're going back outside and getting back to your chores. Even to this day, my aounts and uncles fear my grandma. No joke my uncle ran his mouth in her presence and my aunt (his sister) slapped him, they both realized they goof'd and my grandma was so angry she says to my aunt "slap him again". My aunt knew better than to refuse and slapped my uncle again.

1:33 "You don't look at cookbooks" 😂 whenever I ask my mum for her recipe for something, even something complicated like pencai she goes "Oh very easy," and gives me a list of ingredients instead. In singapore... when the government was closing the stores for covid, everyone ran to get their last bubble tea for weeks... 😂 it was almost a riot

I feel like arabs were once asians that got lost in some mission or expedition and settled and created an entirely different language and culture. I'm actually amazes at how similar we both are.

or maybe it's the reverse. Humans _did_ come from Africa after all, and Arabia's rather close.

I'm polish but man I also had to experience those math tutorial sessions with my dad. I struggled greatly with understanding how money works and how to give back change when I was 6 or 7. My dad would dump all the change out of his wallet and would try to explain how it worked. He'd then ask a question, I'd get the answer wrong, and he'd repeat the question louder while pointing at the coins. I would see double coins because of the tears :') That pain is so real haha....ha.

I'd like to add to the cook book meme. Yeah neither do Italians apparently. Whenever I ask the response is always "a pinch of this and a scoop of that" how much is a pinch and a scoop you ask. I'll let you know when I find out.

Northern Phillipines? I noticed that Pilipinos mixed with Spaniards tend to be more brittle and use corporate parents. Pilipinos in my experience in the South, tend not to beat their kids, with the exception of drunks.
