I love my Pietta 1851 Colt 44 replica and seeing the birthplace of it is awesome! I am concerned for this young Mr. Pietta as he looks about 40 but overworked, exhausted and lacking sleep. Take some time off Senor!! Relax!

Spanish= la nota mas completa que vi de una fabrica de armas. Conozco la marca Pietta pero jamas imagine este tremendo control de calidad. Ahora mirare con otros ojos cualquier producto de ellos, especialmente sus revolveres "peacemaker". This Pietta guy seems like a real down to earth guy. I cried a little to learn they cast thier Single Action frames. There is only one company in the world that perfected cast frames Pinetree technology and Ruger owns it.

This Pietta "guy" is Alessandro Pietta, also Know as Alchemista in SASS, an one of the boss of the factory....

It came off confusing in this video..Pietta cast the frames for their cap & ball revolvers..the SAA frame is forged as you can see...Pietta ( and Uberti ) started using forgings for the Single Action back in 2007..and the Remington 1858 are also using a forged frame ( both Pietta and Uberti )

They were reasonably priced because their steel is the worst junk I've ever worked with. It's softer than a fckin rebar.

I just purchased my first Pietta It was before I watch this video after watching this video I would not hesitate to purchase another one and I’m looking forward to building a collection of Pietta replicas. Simply based on your factory in what you said in this video you have a customer for life from me I will also recommend the Pietta brand to anyone who’s interested. It’s rare to find a manufacturer who is so concerned about quality to the end customer remarkable and beautiful firearms!

the quality ends when we move to material department. Their steel is the worst, softest crap I've ever worked with. It's softer than a rebar made from construction grade steel....

Great video, but I wonder if the guy making those final QC checks at 35:00 is the guy who sent my Cimarron Frontier out with poor timing and no cylinder lockup, hammer back or down, on four of six chambers. Brand new gun, had to go "back" to Cimarron under warranty. Took two months to get it back to me, but it was good to go upon return. Beautiful gun, I really enjoy it.

I bought a Pietta 1873 "Gunfighter" model. Nickle plated, 4 and three quarter barrel. White polymer grips. Very beautiful. I get to pick it up Thursday. Will let you/y'all know how 'she' behaves gents. It was so beautiful I couldn't refuse to buy it. I hope it is a good one "out of the box."

Thank you for this. I own 3 1858 Remington .44's a 5.5" and 2-8". Still want a steel 12", a target model and perhaps another 5.5" and a stock for the 12' and the target .

Yeah sub par quality, Pietta QC is crap, especially after Covid. I know some of the companies such as Taylor's, Dixie and Midway buy and sell some of the B Grade crap and if you don't complain it's a win for them! For the amount of money this BS cost, you can buy a fairly decent modern firearm that you can actually trust and defend your family with.

But why do they use worst steel possible for their black powder guns? Their steel is softer than rebar construction grade steel. I must say, this is an accomplishment in the worst possible way. I can't count how many screws I accidentally damaged by slightly slopping my screwdrivers. I've also once started to cut in my cylinder while trying to cut a protruding ball... with a cheapest chinese folder.

Everyone who shoots these are familiar with how easily the screws can be damaged, but that is also true on the finest Browning shotgun as well. Do you use a proper gunsmith tip screwdriver?
