Anytime you are working to seal these old wheels you need to remove the tires from the wheel , severely wire brush both inside and outside of the wheels , if necessary grind down any sharp edges , and then apply a good coat of primer and then rust resistant paint , paying attention to the valve stem area so that when you install them that they have a good smooth area to seal , both inside and outside and you are good to go for many , many years!! I just recently performed this same job on a pair of wheels I picked up at a sale for on a utility trailer that I am building . I am following your nice and ambitious dump trailer build because I have aspirations to build one myself. Thanks for sharing your build and all the details so that it helps all of us do better!!! In case that you are not aware , there are conversion kits that you can buy at reasonable cost to change out your brakes and hubs from dayton style mobile home hubs to conventional style wheels and tires that can be easily balanced like any other tire and wheel with a lot of different tire options rather than fool with 14.50 inch tires. I haven't switched out my car trailer mobile home tires and wheels yet , but; I am looking to perform it when my tires wear out . I really appreciate you sharing your build and I like the way you are presenting it , please keep posting these easy to understand no nonsense videos , and I love your cats !!!! When you are working hard they sure seem to help give you a nice little break from all the hustling !!

Pretty sure those old style axles have a good high weight rating somewhere around 5000 lb this trailer x2 axle should be able handle a lot of load. but the wheels am not to familiar with look like old dump truck wheel but little. interesting. ✔👍

The axles say 6k and I thought the tires each said 3500lbs. They work but they are probably not ideal.

The camera position is awful cannot see what you are trying to achieve even if it’s sketchy.
