HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Back again for another quick melt. Dumpster diving is always fun but it's getting friggen cold here especially when you're doing it at night. Some pretty awesome brass distribution bars and a bit of copper cable to make me 2 blocks which I'll happily add to the stack. I like that copper bar. I would like to see some small ingots (like finger sized) ..... Kinda like how they did in ancient days before coinage became popular.... There are several companies doing something like that with gold and silver. They will sell you a credit card sized ingot, made up of several break-off-able pieces (about the size of SIM cards). Mostly for collectors and those who use gold/silver for trade.

as you discovered here, the reason slot screws (the ones that the flat screwdriver goes into* exist is cause they are alot less prone to striping then philips heads, yes they do have the issue of the driver sliping out when your trying to extract them, but beter that then the slot striping and you not being able to remove them at all, thats why there typicly used in situations where 1 you will be reasonably expected to have to remove the screw at some point and 2, the screw will require high torque to remove, philps heads on the other hand tend to be used in situations where either the torque expected to insert or remove them will be low (most small to mid sized electronics) or you arnt expected to ever have to non destructivly remove them (construction work)

I know the total value is gonna be big, but sometimes I find myself seeing the value of the individual melts and thinking he is the most underpaid laborer ever. This is just a guy who's probably tried to earn himself a few quid over the years picking up some scrap here and there to sell. Then taken it to the next level. Gonna be a great payday for the copper scrap yards are paying up to $7 per kg clean copper and aluminium is around $1.50kg ..Some good money here gonna be a great pay day...The look on ingot's face when he walked in while they were in the bed watching like pure shock.I get the same look on my face when i see the fuel prices,lol

Yeah when it comes to the other dog treats Ingot will chew it up and actually enjoy it with Bullion will just inhale it and he won’t know if he’s had a treat or a bloody stone🙄 they are completely different when it comes to enjoying the snacks. I worked for office furniture company installing office cubicles. The factory would send 6 foot copper wire pig tale to electrify the cubical panel. Most of the time electricians only needed 1-2 feet and through the rest away. I would take that home and strip each wire with a razor knife while watching tv. This was many years ago, but to me it was a nice bonus for very little work.

I'm stripping the wires by hand right now from a 30-40 year old oven. The strands are so thick my knife doesn't snag on them when stripping. Nice of the manager to let me get it all since it was going to the dump. Love the pups as usual because I can't have pets still. That bent bar is what I've been afraid of every time I see you do it. Probly and extra minute on the sander and it's no longer bent right ;)
