It is the canopy verses Mike the Scavenger, after three times canopy tries to put Mike down, Mike comes back with a forward flip and it is Mike who wins the contest. There should be a gold belt for scrap domination, yes.

Those large boxes arent for phones, they are variable frequency drives for electric motors. On the front it says ahu which stands for air handler unit. They went to the motors for their a/c systems. VFD's are for motor effiency.

The yaskawas are frequency converters for motors. I would remove the small boxes on top, clean them, and sell on ebay. Then remove the smaller parts, and sell them separately. Should bring very good money. I personally would test them too, with some scrapped 3 Phase AC Motor, would be fun. :)

To be honest, they looked as if they were damaged (possibly on purpose to stop resale?) or someone had already pulled some stuff out of them for themselves.
@frankeknarf3 жыл бұрын
Scrappers don't realize that they could make 10-1000 times more money by actually reselling half of what they destroy. I've seen scrappers think they made the score of a lifetime by getting $1000 for a load that they could have made at least $500,000 by selling instead. I've seen priceless antiques get scrapped by these people just to get a few bucks that a collector would literally kill for. I personally think they should make scrapping illegal, but that's just my opinion. If you're gonna do it, do it RIGHT. Don't just look for the quick buck, and miss out on the REAL money. Sure it will take more time, but you'll more than make up for it in the end.
@pinkerbot3 жыл бұрын
@@frankeknarfI agree! I haven't watched enough of Mike's videos to know if this applies to him, but a lot of the scrappers talk about saving the planet, but they forget that reuse of items is far far more environment friendly than recycling materials.

Small mini motors are usually way more expensive than say ones the diameter of a tennis ball. After doing a physical inventory or a couple weeks before, depending on the accounting rules, we'd purge non-active parts inventory and a crap ton of perfectly functioning but very specific parts ended up in the dumpster. They cost an arm and a leg to buy originally but depreciated on the books over 7 to 3 years depending and then the accountants want them gone regardless. The way the world works makes me want to cry sometimes. At least you're keeping some of out of the landfills, MTS.

Dude those Yaskawa Units aren't for phone systems. They are used to drive variable speed DC (*Edit* I meant AC) Motors, I'm guessing the school used them in their ventilation system. If that were all new you'd be looking at about $60,000 worth of drivers right there. But even in that condition offer all those as a lot you could probably get a couple grand. Some of the stuff I see get scrapped breaks my heart lol.
