Years ago I was restoring a 1930s jukebox I had. I needed plastic tubes for the sides of the jukebox. I stopped in a sign shop and got some plastic they use for signs. They use a type of plastic that can be molded easy with heat and place it over a wooden mold. The plastic was clear but I saw at the shop how to paint it. I painted the jukebox plastic red like it was suppose to be. After that dried I then topped it off with a white paint. That smoothed out the color and it still looks great. So you may want to expirement with some clear plastic then reverse paint it and letter it like signs use to be made.

I worked for a sign shop that made molded plastic signs . They start out clear and are painted from the inside. The clear plastic is on the outside and protects the paint inside. I think there is a spray paint made for plastic that would work for your sign. I just found your channel today and have watched it nearly all day! I love the way you thank God for everything! I wish I would have found that deep stainless sink. It would have gone in my kitchen! God Bless and happy hunting!

Any graphics arts company can make decals for your sign. Sand off the color back down to white, polish it smooth and apply the decals. I found a new Pa Pa John's sign on the side of the road and returned it to the store it came from. They gave me 2 coupons for free pizza for the effort. Those signs cost money.

Another one of your British subscribers, love watching your channel and seeing what gets dumped out. For your sign, how about getting intouch with a local car wrapping company or KZbin channel and have it professional wrapped, would look awesome and would be a great advertisement for them and likely to get a good discount or would be a good collab for both yours and their channels bud, and still probably a good discount if not done free for the video content.

About the sign: Ya know the commercial with the Flex all guy that shoots a hole in a rowboat and then uses his tape to seal the hole. Well, Krogers sells this stuff and it works. So do the sign and then put a couple of pieces over it to seal it. Or find a sign shop that does vinyl signs and have them create the wordage then using some OOPs remove the paint and apply the letters. THEN put a small LED under it and wire it to a plug that will go into the cigarette lighter and your sign will glow.

Ha yeah I'd be tempted to try 2hrs for $10 of copper but that's because I like to watch TV as I micro scrap, though usually if they are too difficult to open or too small then they just go in a motor box to be sold as motors to the yard but I like to give them all a try first before giving up. Most of my motors are from commercial copiers and printers so they are kinda easier to pop open, with the occasional ceiling fan motor found out for trash in my area.

Get glass paint? The kind that doesn't require heat-setting. It comes in bright colors from the craft store and is pretty much plastic itself. Scrape off the old paint, and take some light sandpaper to the sign. That'll give it some "grab". The glass paints ought to stick for at least a while.
