I’ve just finished binge watching your videos from 3 years ago until now. You sure have saved quite Literally TONS of stuff from the landfills. I’m quite sure your family and friends (including those of us who watch you faithfully) are SURE PROUD OF YOU. Those large chunks of steel are whats left when they take the copper out of a huge industrial transformer. Also, those Weidmuller things the other day arent relays, they're terminals. Each one will have copper in it and should come apart.

My microwave never had a turntable; the one Mike found might indeed be brand new. Sure didn't look used on the inside, and who'd scrub the heebie jeebies out of a used one right before dumpsterizing it? As for those steel blocks Mike found, those'll keep the Dotster from skidding on the snow or other scrap from blowing out of the truck!

Too bad you don't live near me. Every Wed. ,my garbage company picks up things they won't normally pick up. Some days it's electronics ,others it's metal or appliances etc.. Makes it easy for scrappers.👍

Mike I had a cousin during WWII that had a junk yard business and made lots of money doing scrap. I went a different route and scrap plastic and other items. I have scrap boards I recently scrapped from the late 1960’s heavy laden with gold. I take all sorts of plastic and grind them and sell them off. I wish you would learn about fiber optics and what it’s really worth either scrapping or reselling it. There are firms that purchase scrap plastic. It’s not a fast money maker but everything combine you can make a thriving living. Those water heaters find is from someone that watches your KZbin videos.

Mike those heavy 'steel blocks' are the steel part of a HUGE transformer, ..............can you imagine how much copper was in the windings?

Big blocks of steel look like posts to a transformer. I've scrapped out welders and they had posts just like that, and yes they're heavy! Those posts had a lot of copper wrapped around them, and maybe some aluminum too.

Probably mentioned but I’m not reading all the comments to find out. The steel blocks at the end look to be from a stripped transformer. They took all the copper and left the steel structure. If you’d have got the copper you’d have been very happy.

Not solid laminated steel his yard does not pay any extra for it, same price as shred. The angle iron part that was the bottom of the disassembled transformer will be short steel his yard calls it heavy iron prep and goes for 2 cents higher than shred steel
