Coming from Johannesburg, my first job was in Dundee at the school called Empathe, I was teaching Standard 4 and the year was 1989. There was a local Zulu hymn that they sang about Cain and Abel that went like this, Girls: "UKhayin' akazuzanga, ngokubulalu' mfowabo lutho!" Boys: "Lutho lutho lutho lutho x5"! Both sexes, "UJesu uyakubiza uthi buyela kuye yebo!" "O yebo yebo yebo O yebo yebo yebo!" ×3. Wow although I was homesick that song used to soothes my mind, loneliness and my emotional well being. I went from Dundee to Emabovini between Dundee and ENquthu then went to a farm school between Dundee and Vryheid on the junction of Bloodriver and Utrecht. I had an accident with my first vehicle an Audi 80 GLS that was powdered blue in colour. I was moved to a place called Normandien also farm school between Newcastle and Chemsford dam mind you in a space of one year due to redeployment. I resign in December because I couldn't stand to be in a rural area. Memories never fade it seems like yesterday.

Thank your for tuning into our Channel, and your comment. WOW! It sounds like you have created a lot of your own history in the area! In 1988, I was working at Madadeni Hospital.

@TravelAdventureUrbanTravel wow interesting in 1988 I was doing my last year at Madadeni colledge of Education. They used to call Madadeni " eMentali," meaning mental institution.

It is many rears since I used to be a regular traveller to northern Natal. Considering the state of many towns in SA Dundee does not look in too bad shape. Pleasant surprise watching your video.

@@TravelAdventureUrbanTravel that was 22 years ago and really nothing too specific per say. I just really enjoyed the video because it covered all the places we visited especially that museum which was magical for us due to being able to see what we had been learning at the time. And really its the first time seeing Dundee after 22 years and seems nothing has changed at all. We ended up also going to Nqutu in KZN to also see the re-enactment of the Battle of Isandlwana. We really have a rich history in this Province
