Dundee United 2-0 Roma, European Cup S/F 1984

This should have been the year of the all-British, European Cup final: Liverpool v Dundee United. Regrettably, it never happened. Whereas the English side advanced from their semi-final, the Scots fell victim to a bribed French referee in the second leg of theirs. Nevertheless, they can look back on this game with immense pride - probably United's best ever night in Europe. It was watched by Arthur Montford.
