Dune: Part 1 was an appetizer, Dune Part 2 is the main meal. That was a quote from director Denis Villeneuve. Dune: Part 2 will be much more action packed and suspenseful than the first film. Christopher Walken's planet Kaitain, (pronounced: KY-TAIN) was with all of the greenery was. This film is definitely worth all the hype. Glad you enjoyed the trailer.

Denis Villeneuve and his team have risen the bar EXPONENTIALLY for what a movie should look like going forward with these films!

This looks sick. Couple of corrections/notes, without spoilers: 1. The Padishah Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV, played by Christopher Walken, is a different character than the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, played by Stellan Skarsgård. They're both villains, but with different agendas. The Emperor was behind the attack on the Atreides, disguising his Sardaukar as Harkonnen soldiers in an effort to destroy his political rival without implicating himself. 2. Princess Irulan Corrino, played by Florence Pugh, is not a villainous character per se. Her main role in the first book is as a chronicler of history; she has very little to do in the plot (except at the very end), so her role here is being expanded. She is much more important in the second book, Dune Messiah, so it will be interesting to see if that gets made. 3. The black and white scenes are set on Giedi Prime, the Harkonnen homeworld. We don't know if it's meant to denote flashbacks or if it's actually like that. If so, that's one heck of an artistic choice. 4. The garden scene with Walken and Pugh appears to be set on Kaitain, the Imperial capital. Trivia: they appear to be playing cheops, a variation of chess. 5. The young man we see in the gladiator arena and fighting Paul is Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Baron Harkonnen's nephew, played by Austin Butler. His uncle is grooming him to contend for the Imperial throne in a play for power. He is Paul's evil counterpart, narratively speaking.

Not overhyping. It looks tight as fuuuuuuuuck Part 1 did a lot of world building and character setup groundwork so Denis could go HARD in Part 2

Dune 2 will be the best IMAX movie of all time. The book is already the best sci-fi of all time. One correction it is the Baron in black and white, the emperor is in the garden. The worms will be amazing in this one and the trailer mostly skips over them. There should be other big surprizes too.

I agree. Villeneuve is about to surpass Nolan's use of IMAX imo. Although they will be going head to head with it this year as Oppenheimer will probably be Nolant best IMAX to date too. But I really think the nuclear bomb and human drama of Oppenheimer is going to be surpassed by the new Messiah's rise and his great war. We'll see. I'm over the moon to see this competition between masters.

Denis will be remembered as one of the directors that saved cinema from the stale, stagnant comic book shite that's been rammed down our throats for the last 20 years. It's time to move on.

Love Dune, read the books. So happy that Denis is a true fan of the book and is doing this film adaptation of the book. You can feel his love for the material and the characters. So happy this film is being done in a time when there is such amazing cinematography and brilliance behind the lens. I have never wanted summer and the beginning of fall to disappear and it be November so badly in my life.

I like your reaction, but I'll suggest in the future, to listen and pay attention to it and comment on a second run of the trailer, so you can actually understand what's being said and engage truly with it and by extension, with your audience.

The Harkonnen Baron is just a Baron. There's a reason he spoke of the Emperor as a separate human being to himself in part 1 lmao. The Emperor is Christopher Walken. Though Baron Vladimir Harkonnen does have ambitions to put his nephew Feyd, Austin Butler, on the throne

A trick into seeing Dune part one? No man. Absolutely not, Aiden. This was very exciting for me the first time I saw DUNE part one in my home on HBO MAX. The movie looks phenomenal. The directing. The cast. The cinematography. EXCELLENT! Everything. Every element blew my mind, Aiden. Paul Atreides as the new Duke of ARRAKIS will be kicking ass. Timothee Chalamet as Paul will be bringing it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 BTW: I saw the 1984 DUNE movie. I didn’t like it. It was strange to me. A lot of cheesyness and cheesyness was a big thing in the 80’s cinema. I grew up in the 70’s. Cinema in the 70’s so much cheesyness. Hahaha. Have an amazing day. ☀☀☀

Even a great song will get irritating when it's massively overplayed. There are a bunch of absolute classics I basically can't stand any more because they got licensed for some advertisement or TV series or something and ended up being played to death or bastardised with banal lyric rewrites to shoehorn a product in there somewhere

as a kid, i saw a trailer for Lynch Dune before the movie Highlander. i never forget that, was so weird and wtf. there was no internet, we still didnt have a pc so i didnt know about the games. So i started with the book. now this is happening. The industry crapped on everything i loved as kid, but this. So so glad it dodged the bullet and on top of that became one of the best movies in ages...and we saw only a half of it
