Finally came across this VST. I listen to the demo and was blown away and this is coming from a hardcore Omnisphere user. I immediately purchased Dune3. Now the power of Omnisphere and Dune3 is complete in terms of my synth needs.

@@musicman102357 Yup! If you are trying to demonstrate a synth, it's much better to shut up and play the damn thing. After all that's all we care about anyway; what it sounds like. It's one of the main reasons I make these vids.

So much this. Stick the people who talk all the way through a product demo with those who demo equipment/VSTs without the ability to play the genre it is aimed at. Oh and how about those people who 'demo' equipment/products, but only show a completely mastered track that they are 'playing along with'? That grinds my gears. Let me hear how it sounds raw and my imagination can do the rest, thanks.

Downloaded the demo yesterday. I went through the presets and they were all pretty impressive. the design looks real good. this is a kick ass VST. The sounds are off the chain. 5*, the new filters are so warm and analog brings more punch to the sounds, effects are top quality. Best all around Synthesizer today.

Yep I agree, it's a very awesome sounding synth. I'm already incorporating it into my latest tunes. And the presets are so inspirational. I just got the EDM vol.2 Expansion and it's bonkers good! Might do another vid on it.

I’m so impressed with the sound of this synth so far. Just getting into trance and it seems like this is a good one for that style (most of the presets are in that area) however, I have not compared it with spire

Spire is an excellent all around synth. I use it in a lot of tracks. Dune 3 is very similar in that nature where as it can make a ton of cool sounds. Both are great synths to have in your arsenal.

Dune is really best synthesizer right now. I never pay attention to him. It really sounds like access virus Ti!!! Now im using it a looot. I would say like this for me. Dune 3, Omnisphere 2, VPS Avenger, then others Spire, Sylenth, Serum etc.

Wow, it just goes to show that there are different opinions. Personally, I would choose Serum 8 days a week over Dune 3. Sounds like 90'ies plastic to me. But then again, acid arps are of no interest to me.

IMO, it does Ambient or cinematic stuff much better than Trance stuff. For Trance, I miss the punch, the thickness, and and the aggressiveness of other synths. All Dune's are a bit on the thin side.

@@erikdijkhuizen I would say Spire. For me, it's spot on for most of the "typical" Trance music sounds. It's aggressive, it's punchy, it's well suited IMO. Definitely check out a variety of soft synths though, so you can find your own favorite. 🙂

Good bye Hardware synthesizers.... Roland Fantom $4000 Dune3 $179 This is coming from a 35 year veteran of electronic music, using primarily hardware synthesizers. The sampling and both physical modeling is so accurate now it's easy to not spend money on hardware synthesizers. Yea, I know looks great to walk into a studio with all the great legacy keyboards but in reality people listening to a pure VST based song won't question if it's a Prophecy, Arp Quadra, Moog, etc.

Some of these presets seem to play almost a whole song with different chords and what not. Is there a way to turn that of if you want to use it with your own melodies/chords/key/modes? (like 3:37 as extreme example). If you press one key it does it's own thing

You can access Arp1 and Arp2 and FX1 and FX2 buttons to turn on and off those features and go into FXbus1, FXbus2 sections (buttons above keyboard) to access modify or defeat the design of the preset to your liking so they are a great starting point

It has some DUNE2 soundbanks I think. But it's not compatible with DUNE 1.

Sounds very nice 👍🏻 However i didn’t pay much more for VPS Avenger which has up to 8 ARP Modules and so much more. Based on the price and overall capabilities i would recommend you look into VPS Avenger first. Not to say this isn’t a beautiful synth as it is, just think it’s a bit pricey.

@@blue_cloud7 It's really not that bad. My CPU is not that fast either. It's 3 years old, and mid-range. It's a pretty slow CPU at this point, www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html Plus you can always freeze and flatten in Ableton Live after you've finished programming the synth. So it's really not that big of a deal when it comes to resources.
