Yep. In the books, he impressed the remaining Sardaukar so much that their commander sent his corpse to the Emperor, knowing that he could be very useful as a clone later.

That scene was so sad, even though I knew it was coming. After this scene and Kynes' death my little brother was so pissed at the Sardaukar. I had never heard him scream "No!" like this before.

One of the best scenes of the movie by far. Reinforces the threat of the Sardaukar, even if you're as good as Duncan Idaho, you'll never be able to kill them all.
