You've probably seen the David Lynch movie because there the BG are bald, but as far as I could see they did not become so until they had reached the stage of Reverend Mother. But there is nothing to suggest in the books that they were bald, either in general as BG or just as Reverend Mothers. And it is true they did take the Water of Life, we see Jessica take it in fact, but in the book it's hinted that they could also use any awareness-enhancing narcotic which had the same effect as the liquid from the sandworm.

Litany of fear has a problem. If I knew when the fear has gone, I WILL!!!! Remain, I wouldn't fear too. And it also assumed fear won't leave any difference..... A fear of immediate bodily harm, that looks like one can't escape from, even let's say it will pass and you did remain afterwards; what will be left of the place where the fear has passed trough? In your body I mean. Nothing? Then what were you afraid of to begin with? Such luck can't be assumed. And it's not talking about luck, it's about mental strength I know. But that assumes brain will be unaffected. And ultimately that at least, even as only a brain maybe, but you will remain. The problem is to remain and not to remain. that's a circular way of thinking to say I will remain, against fear that is, at least.

Fear needs to be seen, felt, and allowed to leave. Needs to leave, or it will become habitual or make us ill.
