If he wanted a 12 hour version he would have made it, Jodorowsky had a vision for Dune but he was too visionary for his time. When I first read "Dune", I was 13 years old. Back then, one of my favorite bands (if not the favorite) was Pink Floyd, with "The Dark Side of the Moon" being one of my favorite records as well. This book, this band and this album, all around that time, had a profound impact on me, all pretty hard to put on words. Also, back then, I couldn't even imagine that they tried to make a movie version of "Dune" in the 70s with Pink Floyd doing the soundtrack (yep, we had Internet then, but those were different times, we all know). Then, almost two decades later, feels like it's all coming together. My 13 year old version would imagine it's a dream, but my 31 year old version feels more than happy to see this dream coming true.

Without Dune Messiah, the movies will be incomplete. It's the second book that gives extremely important context to what happened in book one. I really hope that a third movie will get made to properly finish off Paul's story. And then another (more crazy) director can do the rest of the series. :D

I think that WaterTower is aware that Waters and Floyd are the original creators of the song. Like others have said it may have to do with copyright, etc. I'm sure when the credits roll on the end of Dune (if it ever comes out) they'll include the originators in the songs list.

I usually hate the trend of movies and their trailers using bad covers of licensed songs, but this is the greatest possible way it can be done. This is an incredible cover in its own right but the song's lyrics are extremely fitting for Dune, too. As someone who loved the book and wanted the movie to be great, hearing this in the trailer gave me goosebumps. Can't wait for Part 2!

Given it's always been a passion project of his, I know that as soon as Denis got the go ahead to make this film Hans would've been a priority. This combination could lead to greatness. Shame Roger Deakins isn't attached, would've been the cherry on top. Here's hoping this doesn't 'suffer' at the box office like BR 2049 so we can get a complete adaption over two movies!

Thank you for the mention of Deakins. He was the Meryl Streep of cinematographers until blade runner. That would’ve been the cherry on top of the huge ice cream sundae but f he was involved in Dune. His work is in Sicario is unbelievable. Plus many other movies of course. I was so happy when he won his Oscar.

@@minou211 His awkward acceptance speech was great to watch as you could tell it genuinely meant so much to him. Sicario to me is one of the most under appreciated films in recent memory and without Deakins it loses that which makes it so. I recommend Prisoners if you haven't seen it which, again, is masterful from Deakins and Villeneuve (Actors in both films knocking it out the park too of course). The new trailer released yesterday not only makes me believe even more it'll be another masterpiece, but confirmed to me at least that Greig Fraser will do a phenomenal job in Deakins stead.

I loved it the first time, altho I had some issues with the pacing, but then again I was too focused on how visually breathtaking it looks. The second viewing helped me allot. It's a masterpiece in my eyes! :)

The way that it combines elements of sci-fi with human religions derived from ancient Earth counterparts. Like the Fremen subscribing to a descendant hybrid of Zen and Sunni Islam. Is genius. A brutal neopagan future where religion and high science has combined. It makes humans into threatening and terrifying aliens. It feels like how humans would be portrayed if seen from an alien perspective almost.

Yes even Mr Zimmer himself acknowledged it on his public tweet just a few minutes ago. Maybe all the lawyers & marketers just assumed it's common knowledge and there was "no need" to "credit"? I dunno copyright is weird n' stuff.
