Like Tommy said YOU ARE TEARING ME APART! D2 manages to be great, bad, awful, stupid, aweinspiring, unfaithful, respectful, pro-fan, auteurist, and very sell-outish. A guide through the insanity of Dune Part 2. Let the rage flow!

Zendaya is not a character actor. They should have hired an actor, not a celebrity. Spoiler : Part 2 ending with Zendaya with angry face waiting for a worm ride left a really bad taste. What, she is somehow a more important character than Muad'Dib?

Its a shift in perspective to show that Paul is not a true hero, which is explored in Dune Messiah

@@thomasmuandersontheneousul4184 It mainly comes down to this, what do the words woke and feminist mean to you? What do you mean specifically when you call something “woke” or “feminist?” Because it seems to me that many people throw these terms around at just about anything if it involves a strong female character and I want to know specifically what separates a good female character from a “woke” one? Does it just mean a woman who takes charge? Because there are plenty of great female characters who do that and aren’t considered “woke” by many anti woke KZbinrs such as Mikasa, Leia or Casca from Attack on Titan, Star Wars and Berserk respectively for example.

Villeneuve makes boring sterile pretentious movies. Just another propped up Hollywood fraud. He doesn't make 'smart', 'profound', 'masterpieces'. He makes BORING shlock with a veneer of artistry. They're basically Marvel movies with a muted color palette and stretched run times, making them even more of a slog. The Arrival sucked, Blade Runner 2049 sucked, and so does Dune. Three for three, and I'm done trying with this director. Everyone pretending he's Stanley Kubrick or something .. It's just hilarious really.

Nope, sorry you're wrong. I'm tired of hearing you idiots justify changing everything cause "iT wOuLdN't WoRk On ScReEn VeRsUs BoOk" It's the most brain-dead take. The Sy-Fy mini series was the most accurate representation of this story on screen that we've had so far. Do you know how long the miniseries was? 55 minutes *SHORTER* than DV's movie. That means he *literally* could have copied the Sy-Fy series frame for frame, used the extra 55 minutes to better explain concepts that needed to be explained for the layman, and then figured out a balance between the two runtimes so that the middle breakpoint happens at a natural stopping point. If he had done all of that, then he could have created the best adaptation ever. Instead, he wastes so much time lingering on the landscape and drawing scenes out because the dude is terrified of dialogue and story. He should stick to silent films, because he clearly can't tell a complex story. If he had filmed Inception, he would have made a movie with 20 extra minutes of runtime, but the script would have been half as long and the story would have suffered for it. Take his dick out of your mouth and face the truth.

How white they made the evil guys is no coincidence. This isn't even dune the story is just made up. Not sure what happened if the studio got involved but the movie was still 50 percent filler. And wow they focused so much on zendaya it was AWFUL!. They used transitions to have magical plot holes appear without explanation using cuts and action scenes. The pacing was awful as well. This is a good movie if you don't know anything about the dune universe. Very disappointed this makes me really feel like I should never have faith in any of these Hollywood rip offs. They dragged this out to advertise a third movie. They rushed the important parts and just ruined alot of the most charming parts of the dune universe. 5 out of 10 I guess. As a dune fane 2 out of 10
