People compare the show a bit too much to the movies and say the show was boring or slow. But the movies were also, slow and sometimes really drag on (deez nuts) for half an hour of more. I give the show a 7/10, its decent, its not great. Its worth a watch.

The movies have definitely influenced a lot of people's opinions on the show, but I also think the show tried to associate itself with the movies quite a bit. It feels like this show was made for people who are already fans of Dune and was written in a way that sort of assumes you to know a bit of Dune lore already. I'd imagine being quite lost or not really drawn into a lot of the mysteries in this show if I didn't already have an idea of the overarching story at large.
