I'd like them to implement the spacing guild into the narrative after Dennis portrays them in Messiah. One of the most influential sects of the whole dune universe not getting enough screentime is kinda ticking me off...

For me, this series recontextualized a scene in Denis's film, where Jessica's is pushing Paul to take the water of life. Now, I see Valya, as an ancestor voice/ego, desperately pushing for the fulfillment of her breeding plan.

I just want to check with you - was the idea of the Kwisatz Haderach solely what the sisterhood believed in? And Lisan Al Gaib was what the Fremen were taught to believe in BY the sisterhood? So, I wonder why neither has been mentioned in the series yet and whether both prophecies were formed at the same time. I really don't know how Desmond has anything to do with either. Seems to me like he's just a guy being used as a weapon by someone in the shadows and nothing more.

Now i haven't read the novels, and have only just grown interest in this universe since the movie adaptation and this series. My biggest theories some open ended situation: Desmond harts character deviates drastically from the original novel, and is a character built from the ground up. Given what we see in Valyas fighting of her fear and sees Desmonds atrocitys, and was swallowed by the worm. It is quite ambiguous on the timeline from when he was swallowed and until he came to the emperor javicco corino, but what if a Bene Tleilax (known for using thinking machines) is hiding within the worm and did the operations within the worm. Or maybe the worm transported him to the beeings that made the operations on him. I also think we have seen the birth of the sardaukar, the elite unit only loyal to the emperor and that Desmond was the first commander of that elite unit. We see the first instance of that unit in action with the raids on the smugglers. Mother Avila (the old sister): As i saw on some other reddit posts, Avila have has gotten too much screen time for her to just be a random character that is discontent with what Valya did in the past and had to join them. It's clear she is plotting something, and always in the way of mother Tula and other sister acolytes. Maybe she is working with the unkown entity that put thinking machine technology in Desmonds eye, and she is actually the silhouette we see. Tula: I think Mother Tula is still hiding more secrets, and what that could be, remains to be unseen Valya: I agree that Valya is probably the one that will start the prophecy's about the Lisan Al gaib that we see in the Dune movies to put a foothold strength on Arrakis given it's importance. Think makes even more sense given that in the movies the fremens are deeply rooted in beliefs of the "Chosen one" and we see in Dune part Two that Paul atreides mother deepens and utilizes this "prophecy" to make Paul Atreides the chosen one and to lead the fremen. Paul Atreides might be a very distant desecended son og Princess Ynez and keiran Atreides. Keiran Atreides: I don't quiite remember if it was exposed in the movie, that Keiran Atreides was the young guy that Tula told to get away when she assasinated the Atreides bloodline, but if not, he probably is that young atreides that survived. Ynez: I feel like Ynez hadn't that big of an importance in the first series, but in season two I think she will become instrumental to the series and overall story development. as I said, I think that Valya knows through the gene pool she posseses, that Ynez will begin the new bloodline, that will be the one of "the chosen one" as seen in the movies. Lila: It's gonna be interesting to see where this character goes. Her mother was Mother Dorotea. so this gonna be interesting Sister jen: jen the only one not affected by the nightmare, makes her an interesting character. She was also chosen by Tula to help her with the secrets of Lila. I think she might be the work of a Bene Tleilax, and has some sort of immunity to thinking machine technology, given that the Tleilax were known for the use of that tech and to genetically modify humans. Or much simpler and relevant, she is part of house Richese, maybe sister to the murdered richese prince and they use forbidden tech so maybe she has embedded thinking tech in her from her house. a whole lot of yapping i know, but im deeply invested now lmao

Started off slow but it is built up nicely with episodes 5 and 6 creating anticipation. Some die-hard Dune fans have complained about changes made from Frank's books... but that is to be expected when translating from novels to the silver screen and television. I am sure that the makers of Dune Part Three and Dune Prophecy are reading what we fans are writing so that they can make their next installment even better. TV series isn't as good as movies by Denis Villeneuve... but the budget isn't as big either. Good.

Whatta say. Family sucks? The bigger the family the bigger the suck. Add in Spice, Worms and a level of dystopia and there it is. A sci fi version of GOT. Note. A sci fi that predates JRR Martin GOT.

The whole idea of a female Emperor is completely against the feudal mysogyny in Frank Herbert's books. I have only read the House trilogy of Brian Herbert books, is there a discussion of female leaders besides the sisterhood?

I'm by no means sold on the idea that the showrunners are likely following the heretical "Brian canon" over the true "Frank canon"... 😉 Though your preferred "Omnius" theory would be consistent with the fact that Brian is an exec producer for the series, I expect they will CONTINUE to maintain complete ambiguity for one or more further seasons as to whether Raquella's prescient vision is really that of Kralizec (described in "God Emperor" as the result of later Ixian technology running amok, implicitly NOT of holdover tech from the Butlerian jihad). I assume there is a path-dependency afoot here. Once it becomes clear what (if anything) Villeneuve's "Dune Messiah" shows us about a likely still vague prescient understanding (by Paul) of the nature of the "narrow path" (possibly a "Golden" one) he foresaw after his taking of the water of life in the last film, they'll take whatever story-telling path they think will work best in appealing to the largest Dune fan base...

I think Tula probably would have sent him to be raised with the mentats, under the leadership of gilbertus albans, and Erasmus found him a fascinating subject. I certainly would like to see them reveal vorian at some point in the series too.
