Very well designed Jo. I noticed the deliberate choice in loot in the temple. There was no opportunity for a short rest but there were Mana potions so the casters can be a bit more liberal with their spells for solving puzzles or figuring out mechanics without being completely spent for the boss fight. A magic missile spell scroll for those who are willing to explore which would have immediately taken out the illusionary soldiers. Not to mention the tried and true method of spreading out all the mechanics in the dungeon to teach the party how they work in small pieces then putting them all in the boss fight.

Tbh, this dungeon shows a good rule of open world game design: put time and effort into things you expect your players to ignore or miss. It allows the world to feel more real and fleshed out, and makes their experience feel more unique as they feel the stuff they encounter is stuff others would not have encountered

I really love the way Jocat DM’s, it’s so chill and thought out and he’s so FOR the players. Like with the slime when fritz ‘predicted’ the slime, he did the predicable. He gives his players a sense of accomplishment and yet still challenges them and handles things resllt well. Of course i know this is a show and entertainment so it’s a bit more shower then i expected an average game to go, but i home one day my games will be like this :)

They've got some campaigns through official modules (Strahd, Dragon Heist, and currently Princes of the Apocalypse with one DM; Tomb of Annihilation with another) and a whole mess of homebrew campaigns with the main dm, some based in the DM's homebrew world and the rest based on existing properties (Digimon, Type/Moon, and Devil May Cry). Many MANY hours of good stuff if you're so inclined. Great group of players, all 3 DMs are good to great (at least imo) and just a real fun time all around.

I really really loved this dungeon, I wish I could experience something like this in my games in the future. I know the theatre of the mind might make it easier, and it even allows for more dramatic moments, but nothing beats actual struggle and reward when you are in a physical space with determined distances, so that the great moments feel more earned thus more gratifying.

The wording of how Rage ends at 1:31:37 confuses me. It says "Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven't attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then." What that tells me is since he didn't attack a creature or take damage in his turn using rage, then it should lose it then right? I assume rage isn't necessarily for combat. If someone can clarify this to it I'd appreciate it, cuz I think I got lost in the wording.

The nose is similar to a bat family? Jorbib seems to much like a voodooist that wants to make a deal from the picture. The personality is very eager to learn from the Jocat Goblin stereotype of personality. 14:19 A.) This is like the Dorothy house mentioned in an OZ book referenced by Namesake comic. The corpses and items belonging to a hero idolized by the locals but the way resued is alarming. I think some players were alarmed too by "why are the items of the 'pilgrims' being collected after death like this? Why would the weapons be more important to get for "retirement" when not given to family or an heir to their title etc? This seems a lot like how the heroes are used. This brings Necrohunt vibes on someone in government being the fukken final boss. 18:56 A.) GEEZ Jocat! How much encouragement do you feel you need to give your adventurers? They complained somewhat about "why are we given tasks when leaving town?" Were they not doing something you planned as a dm and then you tried to convince them to ask but they never did? The whole senility to sacrifice was not cool either? The whole talking about "i am giving the impression of honor to retire and inspire the next generation" was more like "i am being romantic for the sake of it to frustrating levels instead of good puppy levels". I am struggling to understand the points here? a.) preperations for combat b.) combat c.) told some to do on quest d.) gather items to leave e.) try to figure out context from side quests f.) get worldbuilding tips on where they are This is what I know so far, just this is frustrating somewhat because I think someone is getting played with the romanticism. Necrohunt was about "love the mage not the necromancy" to social justice warrior antagonist levels to where the players had to find out relationships between themselves and others and find out what to advocate for. It's frustrating to try and find out what moral is here. It's like session 3. I'll find out somehow. 26:35 A.) okay 1st part of dungeon. The whole babying thing is evident now. Like a candy bowl with temptation but no trap to make them encourage "good job new adventurer!" I think the players you have are pretty experienced at least I thought. The whole portal trap thing is nice though. It reminds me of the frustration of the Sabrina in Saffron City Gym puzzle and how not to jump to a room where you get ambushed and figure out the right route. 40:49 A.) Did you buy the FF14 ost where Thanalan royalty is? Sounds like the background here is that. 58:00 A.) If this was an intimidation tactic to see if the players cheat by going out of roleplaying to use Golden Cay information to apply to this campaign then this is a dm test to the players on whether or not they stick to roleplaying in character or not. 1:02:00 A.) avoiding the main attack obstacle with preserving yourself and then finding where to go next. Necrohunt Thrym warforged factory dungeon caused a lot of problems to where Jocat wants to test out if he can do certain types of encounters or not. Most of the encounters since the warforged factory were where it got hard to keep the players alive. I AM LOOKING AT YOU RENE! YOU ARE NOT A TANK! 01:09:00 A.) Uh did the players cheat? Where was the door over there or the portal that led into the hallway? I think the players cheated there. I guess they used the candy point Jocat gave them. 1:10:00 A.) Oh worried about mimics? Jocat you need to traumatize so much by putting A MIMIC IN THE 1ST DUNGEON to the point where the players "buy" their rewards instead of get them from chests. Yeah I guess you can blame Runesmith for that. 1:11:00 B.) "Scroll of Jump" A scroll that likely has the ability to just a forceful "jedi" jump over obstacles to beat situations like pokemon ledge bullshit. That would be useful. 01:13:00 A.) This seems nice. Since this counts a the satyr dragons house it's more like "get in get out, don't map the whole damn place for respect reasons" I mean the satyr did give you candy but if someone in America said, "hey! come to my church! i'll give you candy as you find your way around!" the nuance would be it's only creepy if the guy hunted you down, called you a chosen redeemer, and then lured you to the said church after a fistfight with a pagan, then expected you to not get jumped by the congregation as you tried to find your way around inside. 01:18:00 A.) I think it's low tech for this part. Now that I think of it, how did the Owlbear pull it's paw back through? The paw should've been teleported away Edit: also I'm pretty sure bugbears have reach specifically on their turn, so not for opportunity attacks
