Daniel: "For some reason whenever I talk about movies on here I lose subscribers" Also Daniel: "I didn't like Godzilla Minus One, it was fine at best, and I'd rather watch Pinocchio does a slasher" (I haven't seen Godzilla Minus One, I don't have any real interest in it, and I love dumb horror like the pooh blood and Honey movies so I agree with you, it was just really funny)
@kredonystus77689 сағат бұрын
Godzilla Minus One is really weird. It has a very odd scene pacing where the emotions go from 0 to 11 and back to 0 so damn fast and almost every scene. If you aren't a frequent consumer of anime it's really jarring. It ruins the film to me and makes it feel like a kids show, and when you combine that with the actual content it's really jarring.

Personally, I actually like the motion picture segment of Fantasy News. I read, but when I can't or want to experience something with someone at the exact same moment, I turn to movies and TV shows and even games whether analog or digital to share experiences. I wouldn't have picked up Invincible and so many more shows that my friends and I have shared watching experiences with and bond over. I think to save both I personally would actually add it at the end but with style you have already set and come to expect, I understand why you would throw out the motion picture segment over books. So good on you. I just hope that either I can access this part of the patron for free or that you will find a way to have your cake and eat it too in the future. Much love Daniel. Peace✌️

I agree, I need someone else to scour the internet for this kind of information so I can save my brain. Even if Daniel isn't interested in something or didn't like it if it sounds interesting to me I will still check it out. At the very end of this show makes a lot of sense so people can check out if they aren't interested.

Edit: The Goblin King has replied and my assumption was most definitely incorrect and now the Fantasy News guy knows I talked smack...I'm reminded of a famous monkey's quote: "how embarrassing." Something tells me that Daniel has no knowledge of Godzilla Minus One's pitifully small $15 million budget, because it would actually be insane to downplay the immense quality of its visuals and CGI while having knowledge of the production team's very, very limited resources. I simply can't imagine it any other way.
@gman777416 сағат бұрын
Doesn’t make it any more or less enjoyable that it has a small budget.
@DanielGreeneReviews14 сағат бұрын
Oh I'm aware. tiny budget does make it impressive for sure! But to then turn around and say it's STUNNING is too much. It's impressive, but they are very flawed.

@@DanielGreeneReviews Fair enough, to each their own, and I definitely stand corrected with my assumption. Low-key almost dropped my phone and went "oh no, not a reply from the person I made a blunt assumption of just now, oh god..." upon seeing a reply from the Goblin King.

I really liked Godzilla: Minus One. I thought it was a faithful adaptation of the original where Godzilla servers as an analog for the destructive capabilities of nuclear weapons. I think the original is better, but I appreciated Minus One none-the-less. Contrast with the Western adaptation where Godzilla has been turned into this "good guy," and... I specifically recall in Godzilla vs King Kong (spoilers) where the United States military actually detonates a nuclear weapon on a dying Godzilla so that it could recover, the message I take from it is "nuclear weapons are good, actually." Also, the writing to the Western Godzilla adaptations are weak af, I think. The writing is basic, and all those movies serve are essentially "watching these really cool special effects." ... Maybe I just liked Minus One because I didn't see it as utter superficial trash like I see the Western adaptations.

As someone who prides themselves on being an indie publisher it’s amazing you would dislike an indie movie based on a popular franchise. It was one man that did the whole thing. It’s not supposed to look and feel like the crappy Godzilla movies we get here in the states. I love coming here for book news but man sometimes I’m so confused where you stand when it comes to independent creators. Maybe after I read Neon Ghosts I should critique and compare it to all the other traditional books in the genre forgetting that you wrote your book with certain context and restraints. Just going to compare it to every Brandon Sanderson book out there

Id like to make a formatting suggestion for cover reveals since you are open to changing the format up: Reveal all the covers up front, (maybe with a reusable graphic to make it easier and more evergreen) and add timestamps beneath each and talk about them in order in a more contained segment right before the indie author spotlight, so people can see them all, but skip the only the ones they are interested in. And putting them near the end gives you something consistent and solid to end on every time. And for someone like me who is on a very short break and has to skip around it would simplify my skipping ahead by putting them in a consistent section, that I know everything behind the cover reveal chapter is a cover reveal and not a news story or update which I appreciate quite a bit as a viewer

...My issue with the Pinnocchio Slasher isn't that they're making a horror adaptation of a children's story (for a change), it's that it's Another Bloody Pinnocchio Adaptation. We just had three screen adaptations come (Disney Live Action,; a Russian adaptation; and the one people actually like in Guillermo del Toro's Netflix adaptation along at once at the same time as a video game (Lies of P). It feels like not only is Pinocchio over-adapted but that the adaptations are accelerating.
