John says it's time for you to start a band. Where can we see you play these days?

@@katherinedesantis9177 I keep trying to start a band but I struggle to make it work with everyone's schedule and find people who can keep up/are invested in going to rehearsals and being available for shows. I've been constantly trying to make that work for years. It's ridiculously hard to get a band going these days. I'm trying to move to Boston ma area in the next couple months because there are a lot of serious musicians there and there is a big prog scene.

Would love to make one! I'm trying to collect my ideas and hammer them into full length songs that are not just me noodling for 5 minutes at a time. Hopeful to have at least SOMETHING officially released within the next 12 months!

This rules, man. Do you have tabs for it you could share?
@benjaminkrutledge7425
@benjaminkrutledge7425 Ай бұрын
Thanks! I do not have tabs unfortunately, this was done spontaneously. Not improvised, but I wrote, rehearsed, and recorded it in less than 2 hrs, all in 1 sitting so I never needed to notate it. I don't usually tab my music out in general, I usually record it and leave notes about what keys/chords/voicings I am using and then relearn it by ear. Sometimes I score things out in sheet music notation, but I've never done so with tabs. I'm flattered that you want to learn the song and sorry I cannot be more helpful, but its fairly simple and you could probably learn by ear/watching my hands! It's done in standard tuning, all in B minor (with some raised 7th). 4 different parts- the second part walks up the chords i > ii* > III > iv > V and they are all voiced R,5,3. The third part walks down chords i > #vii* > VI > V using root position arpeggios played descending, pretty much your basic sweep patterns. The drone part at the end, I am sustaining a low B and F# on the 2 lowest strings and then improvising on the D string. The GR-55 has a footswitch that allows me to sustain certain strings even if I am not playing that string anymore, so sometimes you will hear a string I am not playing, but it isn't just an open string. -Good luck!!!
