Imagine my surprise to find this rad Vermis based DS via the algorithm today! Imagine my surprise doubled when I realized It's one and the same as Radagast! I got the Yavanna CS from Yuggoth last year. Downside: now I have a deep want for a digitone. Every silver cloud has a dark lining, I suppose.

Absolutely love this. Reminds me of 70s ambient electronica. I never heard of Dungeon Synth as a genre before but now I'm intrigued to look out for more music like this. Praised be the KZbin algorithm for suggesting something deeply enjoyable this time.

I really love your Channel. I would like to do this kind of music. I already have one hydrasyth and one microfreak, but i think i need more tracks and sequence possibilities. Do you recommend the dígitone (or digitackt)?
@JosuaKarlson3 ай бұрын
Thank you! You have two gems already. If you don't want to spend much money get a sequencer like the Korg series or Circuit tracks, Polyend Tracker...If you got the cash, both Elektron devices you mentioned are awesome. I would go for digitakt since you got two synths but no sampler yet.
@alvarosanchez51913 ай бұрын
@@JosuaKarlson thanks!! I'll check the Korg sequencer also, because it's true that the digitakt os expensive. But if the workflow of the digitackt IS good, i think i would prefer It, as i could play without too many cables haha (something like microfreak).
@SPanuccioMusic3 ай бұрын
"Dungeon synth" huh? Interesting concept. And now I've gone down a short rabbit hole of what Vermis is and games that don't exist. Reminds me of the early 2000s when people were shooting and cutting trailers to movies that don't exist as small Indy film projects. This definitely brings back nostalgia of the late 80s/early 90s. Subscribed ☺️

Hi, very sick tune ! How do you change patterns without touching anything (since digitone doesn't have a song mode) ? Is the digitone controlled via another sequencer ?
@daviddelahaye213 ай бұрын
The Digitone DOES have a song mode (updated firmware) but it doesn't seem activated here, so I was wondering the same... perhaps various slowly modifying LFO?
@JosuaKarlson3 ай бұрын
It's a function called "pattern chain". Just simply hold down the patterns you want to play in a chain together:)

Ooh, nice weak-resolution! (Without going and analysing too carefully, did you finish on the 6th degree?) Definitely adds to the spooky, misty, murky, unknown depths of the swamp :)
@JosuaKarlson3 ай бұрын
Thanks:). What exactly do you mean?
@kaitlyn__L3 ай бұрын
@@JosuaKarlson scale degrees, harmonic function, resolutions It’s the equivalent of going “shave and a hair…”(weak resolution) instead of “shave and a haircut” (maximum tension). Most are familiar with that ditty. So a “strong” resolution would just be letting it finish and going “two bits!” So yeah. “Weak” resolutions are used a lot in mysterious and/or angsty music because they give a sense of trailing off. Rather than tying everything into a neat bow like a “strong” resolution does.
