I think their inverted hands are a physical manifestation of their greed; where mortals are always grasping inwards towards what is theirs, a Rakshasa is always reaching outwards towards what others hold.

I'm using one of these as a right-hand-fiend to my big bad. My players are extra powerful, so I amped it up with a few more spells. They effing HATE that guy, but they can't pin him down to get rid of him. It's awesome!

I remember in Pathfinder they had a Rakshasa bloodline for tieflings. If you want a fun character, have a rakshasa's offspring be committed to taking them down.

These guys sound like they would make for great recurring villains that you don’t have to worry about your party fighting or killing. They can always make their way back to the group to goad your players or drop some juicy plot points.

I recently saw some art depicting Joe Exotic as a rakshasa. Very fitting, and made me wonder if a D&D campaign could be based around him and his crew?

I have heard some descriptions of mythological Rakshasas that depict them as humanoid tigers. Granted, that's not the only form they appear in in mythology, but it is a form they appear in.

I just threw together a plot on Reddit about a merchant guild who is threatened by were-s for “protection” money... but the big-bad was basically a low-level mob underboss who gets turned as a result of a random encounter and goes on to turn & dominate the rest of the underworld leading up to wresting control of the local landed-nobility... he was comedically modeled after Fat Tony from The Simpsons, but I think that now I want to make him a recurring character after dying and being sent to the a fiendish plane becoming a Rakshasa!

So question in the video you say 2 things 1. Female rakshasas rise there young 2. Once they die they eventually reform on to the mortal plane so is there like a ever growing population of them?

I am willing to bet that lots of raksasha's die mainly to holy weapons. More then likely held by holy warriors of faiths, sent to kill the raksashas. And a fun idea is, opposing forces of evil let good folks, like priesthoods and the like. Under a disguise, give pre-text or information stating their cases. Maybe they are believed. Or hire a group of adventurers and places a hit out on their enemy. But it seems like raksashas are meant to be a hidden threat under the guise of someone else. For all we know, a very good leader of a large city, is a raksasha in disguise, ordering horrible acts to be done. But due to their nature, able to play both good and bad. Casting blame aside and ensuring no one is capable leading any info back to them. But these are but speculations and stories/theories I havr read

I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the rockinshasa dungeoncast! . . .yes I know the pun sucks milords, I'm a paladin, not a comedian. Speaking of my job as a paladin, I've heard that a new thieves guild has been on the rise in recent months. I've been racking my brain over how to bring down this organization! However you have given me an idea! I theorize that a rakshasa is capitalising on these lands troubles after the slime out break ruined us in order to make people suffer even more! I'll have to investigate further! Good day good lords of knowledge and laughter! Ah, my fix has been delivered yet again, thanks boys. Just one thought that I like, what if you used a rakshasa as a merchant? Instead of tying him, or her to the bbeg, make them an unrelated merchant your players can deal with. It can end in one of two ways, either the players are very careful with the wording of their deals and end up getting a merchant who sales very valuable items, or they mess it up and the rakshasa screws them over. Anyway I don't have much else to say. Have a good night guy's, hope your day is going well.

I've had an idea of playing a former Protector Aasimar who was once a powerful noble, but his ego and laziness led to the fall of him and his guardian angel (who encouraged his behaviour). Now, he's a Scourge Aasimar Zealot Barbarian (who's Radiant Consumption feature accelerates his transition to Fallen). Fueled by self-loathing and indignation, his mission is to redeem himself by slaying his former-guardian now Rakshasa, who has stolen his fortune and identity and run him out of town.

Where is the lore that a blessed bolt permanently kills them, coming from? It just kills them instantly, not permanently, according to the source books.
