I played a warforged battlesmith in Tomb of Annihilation and it was great. I took sentinel and the combo of disadvantage if they didn't attack my steel companion or me getting an attack if they did attack my companion was awesome

My first experiance with Battlesmith was attempting to make the Steel defender into a mech suit for a flumph. Cool concept, but confusing mechanically, and died uneventfully. Perhaps another day, I shall try this again. Another Idea I had was running a Warforged Battlesmith/ Bladesinger Multiclass. The concept was a Crash test dummy and a sparing bot against the world.

I"m playing a battle smith blade singer at the moment. I gave the defender a headband of intellect and the DM let it gain sidekick levels. took up an attunment slot but really helps the defender stay on par as I level up.

I made a ranged battle smith, shield and pistol with the repeating shot infusion so no need to reload. Used magic bullets Outlaw Star style for spell casting. Turned out very strong Edit: strong at lower to mid levels, didnt get him much higher than 6

I saw a video of a dude who made a 50. Cal powered hammer, like imagine a revolver cylinder built into the head of a hammer. Since then, I’ve wanted to play a battlesmith, wonder why..

Did you skip over the part where Battlesmiths can make attacks using intelligence rather than strength or dexterity? Seems like you’d max out intelligence rather than raising strength. Cool character designs though.

Love playing my artificer he’s a battle smith who’s like a shithead New York mechanic. My steel defender is a dog without front legs that he attached a rig to with like prosthetic legs and an arcane battery on his back like a harness.

Um actually 😏 the scene that you are referring to when Andy is dropping woody he is infact dropping woody because woody ripped his arm and the conflict where Andy would rather play with woody is resolved in the first movie and this scene is in the second movie
