I TOTALLY agree with the light interaction with all objects. It's something I really hope they work on, and Megasploot is really good at listening to their consumers.

For advanced lighting options, like furniture and pillar shadows radiating away from a light source, Campaign Cartographer 3 offers a lot of fancy features. But it's expensive and has a significant learning curve - it uses an interface based on the CAD software that isn't intuitive.

aside from bug fixes, honestly the best addition to the toolset has been the community made assets that has now had time to fill out. Originally the program didn't even have objects to insert into your maps but not only does it have them now, theres a wealth of free assets you can downloads from the community. you used to have to make your map, then load it into photoshop and place object assets yourself. I WILL say I wish the wall shadows could be toggled off since many community packs give you shadows you can manually place yourself which can look better than the ones the tool makes itself, especially when it overlaps shadows in places like corners or on smaller areas where you place invisible walls to block light. ALSO I wish it were possible to fill in blank space between especially thick walls with like solid stone or wall material or something.

I bought Wonderdraft and Dungeondraft almost exclusively off the back of your older videos. I still think they're both incredible programs - bonus points for being "one and done" when it comes to price - I wasn't aware about Pre-Fabs... but this is an eye opener! Love it! The future is bright.

Great to see how far this program has come! It's lookin' top-notch. A little trick I've seen done before, If you ctrl+c while you have a group of items selected, then you can ctrl+v it into notepad, or a comment-box or w/e. That text can then be copied by another user and pasted into existence in the engine. Does this work with prefabs? This could be a functional way to share 'em nice and easy anyway, a Reddit post with just a screencap of the prefab and pasted text in the post for instance. I'd love to check myself but I don't own the program, fingers crossed for the giveaway! haha.

One of the biggest perks to me has been being able to export the maps directly to Foundry VTT with walls and lighting already there. And I agree, the asset packs have helped immensely with building scenes, the ones from Crosshead have been some of my favorites so far.

Totally great program (of what I have witnessed thus far) and so much creativity left to explore. Advanced lighting/shadow effects: yes. That would be really nice. Unsure if avail, perhaps some curving effects in terms of structures? More stone effects (different colors, designs?) like for paths (again if not already within the program). I am still reviewing all the vids on this program and admittedly I do not own it yet (unless I win it!). That being said, thank you for the update!

Great Vid. Completely agree, if objects cast shadows I think that would be over for the competition. Dungeon Painter is beginning to start to play with this in terms of walls and how they cast shadows in a realistic manner. All in all these apps are fantastic and are only getting better... with the exception of some legacy VTT services I could mention ;)

Having looked at a few different programs, dungeon draft does look the most appealing but I still don't like the 2d walls and it seems all programs do this. I wouldn't mind thicker walls and have them look a little bit isometric so one can see what type of surface they're looking at.

Just generally more assets built in and thus matching the art style and of course improved stability would be what I want out of future updates. I'm sure there are custom assets for this, but the minimalism of the art style works really well with the printer friendly filter so I can use these maps IRL (been trying to get the game to have fewer screens).
