I love how Monty’s description of the dragon left us feeling of power and legacy. I completely missed the illusion. Monty is such a story teller. Then all hell breaks loose with the Kobolds. Classic and nuanced. 🐺

Super fun episode; luv the riff on Tucker's Kobolds! The homebrew statuses are really interesting; it did feel wierd to me that the weakened condition affected spells (Rudi's Magic Missile). To mo, it seems like frailty of body shouldn't detract from spells. Just a thought...

Casting a spell needs verbal and somatic components, if the body is weakened then the somatic components of the spell is weakened also.

Im almost caught up and I feel that, I still watch CR occasionally but I've found myself not caring about the current campaign much, nights of evening star has long since ended, and I stopped watching Tabletopnotch after the sudden change in the player group. This group is the only one I find myself eager to watch these days

@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya I tried CR and couldn't handle the constant swearing. Highlighted how refreshing Monty, Jill, Kelly, and Joe keep it clean. I'm an adult. I swear when situations justify it; but the constant, gratuitous use of the f-word gets annoying. Im currently looking for other groups to follow. I want real RP, not tons of bells & whistles, and trained actors. Suggestions welcome.

@@bemommyb I don't mind the cursing, it's the constant horny talk and the way current social issues are much more heavily reflected in the world and characters than in their first campaign. I watch for a good story and fun antics, while they're great actors it truly feels scripted these days, like they're trying to put on an actual performance and sell you something like a used car salesman. One of the driving factors steering me away though is the general community, you can't voice a single complaint without getting berated by their toxic fans, I really like the community here because you could actually have a proper discussion about things without being told to go somewhere else.

While some of the numbers on the conditions likely need tonning down (looking at you, burning) the overall flavor has been lovely and super fun. Hella glad to se yall implementing it

Disagree, DoT has to be seriously cracked to make someone spend an action extinguishing it because of how short most combats are. I think it's just worth be cautious with how *easy* is it to apply big burn

Their homebrew burning condition is variable. Small fire means small damage, but big fire means big damage. Makes it more dynamic, imo.

I also came here to call Joe a gem. Except the part I'm laughing about right now is him naming EddieLizard and then Monty going "you know, he might already have a name" and just with a completely straight face Joe just says "no". Just refuses Monty's name. (yes, I know it's been a year but I only started watching this series a few months ago. And I assume Joe is still a gem).

Seeing a weakened Rudy climb a tree, I wonder if the Weakened condition should give you disadvantage on Strength checks and Saving Throws in addition to dealing half damage, Though I could see that possibly being a bit too much of a debuff

Good stuff, Monty, Kelly, Jill, Joe and crew! I have listened to every single one of your play sessions, and this one is way up there. Monty changing it up and borrowing a little from Kyle’s suggestion about the Kobold boss, and incorporating it so well with the magic dragon. Joe always makes me laugh my ass off. Gill metas very well and she’s low G funny, too. And Kelly also helped create Drakenheim...so, he sorta knows what’s going on. Ranks right now: Veo > Rudy Wilhelm > Sebastian Wrath > Pluto (but barely)

In my home game I have a drake warden ranger who has a kobolt that turn into a dragon for there companion the dragon was called meepo. So now I know what would have happened if my player didn’t take meepo with them

I strongly believe horrors purpose is the exact opposite. If it’s goal was to normalize those things, it wouldn’t be horror at all. It’s intention is to make you feel terror by showing things that are terrible. It makes you uncomfortable because it isn’t normalized. Furthermore, the best horror has… none of the options you mentioned, and those are trademarks of very poorly made horror. I’ll admit I love many movies with death in them. But I avoid films that depict sexual assault. I love many that invoke dread and fear without resorting to violence. So honestly, this take on horror is, in my opinion, just missing the point of horror completely and if you’re mind can’t be changed, that’s on you and I’m sorry.
