Actually the idea that the password was just "open" in french was really smart because in theory literally not a single person in that world except for terry senior should have known French, except the dads were an exception

Perception is to notice something without investigating, usually you do passive but you can let them roll to see if they get higher than their passive to see if they gain more info from what they saw/heard. Investigation is for active searching.

Yeah it's basically your insight on the current situation. Roll high and you're pretty in tune with the environment and current situation; roll low and you're not being very observant, or not seeing pertinent information.

God damn… I watched an animation of this scene when the Dads confront Terry Jr near the end plus a few other scenes which got me into Dungeons and Daddies and for some reason this podcast hit harder to the point of me tearing up. Makes me really appreciate that this is a thing.

This is incredible. Also, so this makes, what, three times the GM has handed the PCs a method of negating the geas on Darryl? I think Darryl still has his axe that negates magic, right? (I’ve never seen the rest of this, so I’m not spoilering anything in particular. This is just me guessing.)

If your dad wasn’t a vampire, why did you need to invite him in. Why did he fly over there? Like a bad to relay a message. Why did he share the same complexion as the other vampires. Why did he have this obsidian castle emanating, a dark aura. Why was it that whenever you were around him you felt like he was taking something from you, that you were drained even when you should’ve been your happiest. We met you when he was still “alive” and you still looked horrid. You should’ve been glowing. Can’t you see somethings ofc here? They’ve been feeding on your insecurity, your biggest loss. You’ve been manipulated and it’s turned you into something horrible. Willing to take other dads away from their sons just so that you could have yours.

This was the third time they could have found something to help them get out of the child-murdering/eating contract, but didn't. At this point, you have to wonder if they actually want him dead. 1:18:40 That joke's older than I am. You didn't make up shit. The real thing goes: "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Little Old Lady." "Little Old Lady who?" "Oh, I didn't know that you yodeled."

I'm sorry, but Beth is maybe the worst RPer in the group. The whole 'im going to call myself to solve this puzzle!' Is the worst kind of dues ex machina and it's going to stop being funny real fast. Beth/Ron talked for a long time to Terry jr and got nowhere close to making any kind of argument or progress towards the whole 'the vampire isn't your father ' line before the others had to step in for her. And the speech at the end...it was a whole bunch of emotionally charged nonsense. It started well, the fish story was good to start but the train derailed on the story and lost its meaning to jump to a whole new line of 'family isn't just about blood' point, which is good in itself but in no way fits in with what she was saying before. Not that any of it matters because the story is being railroaded despite any choices they make. Fun show, bad d&d. Don't get me started on the aggressive ads, every 5-8 minutes
@fisheggs67557 күн бұрын
WOW, goes to show you know nothing about RP. Beth stayed faithful to her character, Ron is a very unaware, clumsy character. Him completely beefing is EXACTLY what Ron, as a character, would have done. If Beth played it the logical route she wouldn't have been faithful to her character, and thus not a strong RPer for that. And as a story, it was Ron beefing up that makes him see that he needs to change something, there was DIRECT consequence to him being his usual flippant self and thus knew he needed to change. And obviously you didn't get the point of the fish story. The point is Ron put so much worth into getting love from his biological father, which amounted to nothing. Now, as we saw with the relationship with his wife and now Terry, he's growing to learn that even if you can't get love from the people you are biologically related to, it's the people who give you the love that matter and is worth something. I think part of the arc with Terry is him in real-time coming to this realization. Not to mention this shit is HARD to pull off in real-time, as someone who roleplays and also does DnD. Also, as you may have learned if you continued this at all, there's a reason the cloak takes Terry anyway. If you dislike a character, you dislike a character- that's fine. But don't be a loud and wrong rule vulture asshole.
