As a former line cook at an EXTREMELY popular sports bar, this is so real it hurts... Surrender your sanity and fall into the void. The greasy, chicken scented void...

As a 50 yo, who has worked in many customer related service jobs, I would like to offer this piece of advice. If you just move to crazy, it simplifies everything! You no longer have to "go" crazy, since you will already be there, and those things that disgust everyone else out (Like a kid getting sick on the second level of a play place or someone taking a dump in the urinal) just kind of become another mindless task. I moved to crazy years ago and have saved so much wear and tear on the commute! It also comes in handy in other ways. I could do my jobs properly, on autopilot, so listening to music in those kitchens never distracted me!

As a former waffle house employee/master grill operator, this is 90% accurate. Having 3 cooks is the most unrealistic, even if 1 was a meth cook.
@0x7773 жыл бұрын
How did you avoid killing anyone? I know I couldn't survive a single day... or rather, the customers couldn't.
@brandond.77683 жыл бұрын
@@0x777 The grill operators come in 2 styles: Rough and tumble, or Zen masters. Rough and Tumble tend to be on meth, former inmates, or both. They also could go toe to toe with any MMA fighter, don't mess with them. I was the Zen master. The guy who taught me taught me the matra, "There ain't nothing to it but to do it". You just sort of go with the chaotic flow. Baby in corner...sure. Pickup comes through window...guess I'll call the repair guys. It is what it is.

I can also agree, this is preoccupied. Being in Florida, I guess Lee see there being a meth lab in the back of a Waffle House. As to the customers demands and responses, I can say that's pretty damn accurate. I did once have a drug customer come in and demand a pizza. Even though, a pizza parlor was no more than 100 yd away in the same Plaza. Apparently we had the stuff in stock, because I guess this was a frequent. occurrence.

My wife does not play RPGs, but she is a manager at a Waffle House, and she was dutifully impressed that you only had one glaring mistake. Waffle House does not have microwave ovens. Other than that she says you were pretty much spot on, even the, "I'm gonna take a smoke and get baked," outtake.
@pdutube3 жыл бұрын
Dang, this is turning into a documentary! Waffle House should be a National Monument. When anyone needs it, it is there, and the employees do not judge for they have seen the disheveled masses and have taken them in.
@michaelolsen70003 жыл бұрын
I'm shocked Sarah's character didn't have a feat called "Miracles under Pressure" that gave her major speed bonuses when shit hit the fan. Every line has that one cook, who just suddenly bursts into super saiyan mode when the tickets pile up. They burn out fast, but damn if they're not the best when you really need them. The days they're off are the worst... and it's always Sundays.

4:48 The worst part is where you tell the customer that you don't have microwave cookers here and they don't believe you. Also, when they eat for 5 hours, show you what they insist is a pubic hair in their salad and demand a refund. When given this complaint my first thought was to wonder how you could tell a pubic hair from other hair on your body. Do they have a lifetime of experience of sticking their face into stranger's crotches? Are they doctors? Do they shave pubes and collect the hairs themselves? Customers are not always right- sometimes they're insane.
