I'd almost forgotten about this show! The most favorite episode of My three Most favorite episodes; the other two being "City at the Edge of Midnight" and "The Dragon's Graveyard". Of course, "The Valley of the Unicorns", "The Time Lost", "The Lost Children", "Winds of Darkness", Zarkus Ralidan! The list of, Seriously impressive, exceptionally well written, and beautifully Animated 1980's Cartoon show episodes is Made up of thirteen episodes from Two seasons of Dungeons and Dragons! My college years favorite Saturday morning Cartoon show. Fabulously entertaining with a Darkness not usually seen in kid's shows of the time. Almost, Too, adult level. Cave of the Fairie Dragons had a Realistic cuteness mixed with a (rare for the time and genre) believable Bad Guy that just made you want to "Send In The Marines" to help the little dragon-folk! Oh 🙀 and one Observation: Notice how Dragon Creature Design formula has changed and become rather homogenized into, More or Less, An Equine+Dinosaur morphology vs proper reptilian snake/lizard like?! Even Dragon Prince "Azymondias" (Zym) is rather Tairlanga-Like compared to typical Dragons from fantasy art from just a few decades ago! Just Saying 😸

Presto gained greater control over his hat {conjuring up entire meals and electric razors}. The "Glass Wall" was only a mere Wall of Force, or even a rudimentary "Shield" spell. The Dungeon Master's Guide of the time {First Edition}, clearly gave the rules for artifacts, of how they had rudimentary powers, mid-range powers, and ultra powers which could only be unlocked after extensive study. Gygax was obviously following his own rules.

I love this episode in the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. It has a group of fairie dragons led by their elegant Queen Tasmira. Among them is a young Amber who is optimistic and enthusiastic. She even has a crush on Presto the Magician, I think. I can see and tell. Dragons come in shapes and sizes and have different types of wings to fly (bat or butterfly). They also keep their treasures secretly safe in their caves, so that no one can get their hands on them. I have never seen or heard of a fairie dragon before until now in this show. I find them beautiful and cute, even when they are small.

Not a bad episode. Still kind of cheesy. Especially when the Farie Dragon couldn't shake the two humans. Good to see the Theif using her equipment well. The Wondelerous Legendary bow jsut reached a new level of power. Saving Presto from the drop.

I've got to say - I think this is the worst episode I've seen of all of them, and I've been watching them all. The only really good aspect was the bit right at the end with Eric smashing the mirror, and his back and forth with Bobby towards the end, where they somewhat reverse their normal roles (also liked the "Them!" reference, I'll admit - plus the King's extremely well-horned hat), which was really good, particularly as it implied that Bobby was getting fed up with Dungeon Master's schtick. But apart from that - there didn't seem to be any reason why the Fairie Dragon Amber was attracted to Presto, and no set up for it. There was no twist at all with the Fairie Dragons - they were just good. Not even ambiguously playful and amoral or something - something to make it interesting that they needed someone's help. They seemed like the kind of thing that adults think kids like - rather than being actually what they like which is usually something more nuanced. The floating rock/floating soldiers thing just seemed lazy, and it kind of implies that Presto's magic works by him learning spells, which in the rest of the series he's not really portrayed as doing. I don't normally like complaining about things, but looking for the interesting side, but this episode just seems so much below the bar of all the other ones I can think of (including ones by the same writer) - just kind of shallow and lazy without really getting what the series is about, or displaying the maturity and subtle complexity usually on offer.

Yeah, this was the worst episode in the entire series, it was more like an episode of My Little Pony..l actually have no memory of seeing this episode growing up when the series originally aired but l might have just blocked it from my memory. I'm just grateful it was the only really bad episode...well this and Winds of Darkness, which is another episode l have no memory of from back in the day.
