Gotta love Steve's giggle when the schmag blows into "Gain Apparatus". Next Level, Mama! Cannot imagine what someone would have to do to get in there and replace that oil tank the way it is sandwiched in there. Definitely no Taj Mahal, Mama! Thank goodness she called Steve! Calling in the professional who knows how to proceed and repair the previous mistakes made by an incompetent repair person. Excellent Work, Steve!

I have seen a few of your videos for oil burner service and wonder why you wouldn't pull and check the pump screen/filter routinely every time with the service, especially since this boiler wasn't serviced in a while and had other issues. Other than that, good video!
@hmoorman58823 жыл бұрын
Hello Steve. I follow your youtube channel for a long time now, and so I got interested in my gas boiler. I live in the Netherlands, and my gas boiler gets an annual service. It’s a high efficiency boiler, closed system. I noticed that during servicing at my boiler, no combustion tests were performed. During the fall, when the boiler had to run longer periods, the CO alarm went off. This is near impossible while it’s a closed system. Burner air comes from outside. I went to investigate, assured with the Knowledge I gained from your video’s. I found a gasket so cracked and old, that combustiongas could escape from the inner part of the combustion chamber to the outer shell. My child is sleeping in the room next to the boiler room, thank god for the co detector! Furthermore I found out, that the flame was burning yellow to orange, instead of the blue color, which indicates an Incomplete combustion. I fixed the gasket, and did a full service on the system, finding more problems, broken ionisation pen. To fix the combustion problem, I bought a oxygen analyzer from amazon, the CY-12C for 50 bucks. Made a moisture trap from a small jar with ice, and did the test. Oxygen levels where far to low! I adjusted the gas valve to factory specs. System runs now smooth and lean. I found out that laws in the Netherlands are not as strict as there are in America. Annual combustion test are not mandatory! Even before 2021, you didn’t need a license to install a gas boiler in the Netherlands! Who can you trust in these times? Don’t trust anybody! Steve you’re the greatest!!

Glad you had the detector and that your family is OK! CO is no joke. A friend of mine almost died because there was a CO leak in their building and the landlord had no detectors (required by law).

@@realestateservicessaleshea99 totally agree 100% about the "cold." I have lost 4 family friends ages 34,39,56,67. The people in their 30's had no health issues and were in great condition, the older fellows had a typical controlled hypertension but other than that nothing to be alarmed about. Cannot fathom how some take this like it is a fallacy as the outcome for all that get it varies so much.
