You're Old School and Honest to a fault, many of the newer folks / Kids just want to rip folks off, as a Landlord my tenants Boiler had a problem with a recirculation pump, the Company i tasked to look after our Property sent out their contracted heating engineer to replace same, he hadn't even a Standard hydronic 'Recirc' Pump in the truck ... he then told them there was NO pump in the Plumbing Supplier but was on Order and would take a week, I freaked when i found out.... as there were plenty on that Plumbing Suppliers shelves...plus there were three other Suppliers within a half mile radius, just either couldn't be bothered to do the job and swap out same...or more likely possibly stacking and racking his Jobs... bad Hombre's ... great work...

@@malachy1847 last week I went to an old ass boiler with an old oil to gas conversion burner gun the boiler wouldn't fire, and old man lived there I'm only 33 I had never seen anything like this before..I looked at it a bit used my multimeter and found the problem and old transformer, problem was it was tiny I couldn't get one to fit inside the conversion gun, so what I do? I got a regular transformer that I had already on me a little drilling and altered the conversion gun housing to accept the transformer, I swear I was so proud of.myself it was a "damn I'm good" moment I did tell the mans kids that they should start to think about replacing it, I could of not touched it, I worked with guys that would condemn the thing i never understood condemning a boiler theres always a way to fix things bug today that guy has heat

If you can seal the rest of the tank off, hook a shop vac to a fitting up top and you get a few second of time to remove and replace that pipe nipple and valve coming out of the bottom of the tank. I’ve done it to full hydraulic oil reservoirs to pull a drain plug and replace it with a nipple and valve for service.

Holy shit. This was one of the funniest videos I’ve seen on KZbin. The colloquy between Steve and the homeowner had me in stitches. I thought maybe by the fourth time he asked the guy if he smelled fumes upstairs, the guy would relent. Reminded me of one those cop shows where the investigator asks the same question 20 times hoping you will slip up.

Hi Steve, thanks for sharing the video, when you were pressurizing the tank I thought at that point that the vent was blocked, after seeing someone else remark I think the first valve at the tank was the problem, I have also been in the business for about 40 years out of Philly.

It missfired for a Mnth and Rumbled like Hell . Till one night she pumped the firebox full of fuel . I never went down the steps so fast here in my life making a run to that power switch . with the raw odor of fuel oil and seeing fuel run acrossed the Floor .....First time i ever barked back at my grandad i was hot at 15 years old i learned how to work on it my self with the help of a Real furnace man . Love your videos buddy. When I run into a clogged tank like that. Don't be scared I hook 120 lb straight to it. All you need to do is pop up the compressor then put a ball valve on the line.then open the ball valve real quick on 120 lb then shut it right off and blow the clock right out of it. Never had an issue. Good luck keep up the good work

Just a suggestion but instead of using disposable cartridges to blow out lines you could get a small empty propane tank or other small pressure tank and fill it with air from a compressor. Then refill it as needed.

I appreciate you have to hit home to some people that they need to keep up a proper regime of maintenance on their appliances. Great visuals to show what was the issue & the parts of the burner and great problem soluctioning on getting him going by relocating the fuel line and filter to the top of the tank. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks again.

[don't miss this].did this service for years.tank needs to get replaced,but he's retired with limited budget.the tank installed was the cheapest on the market at the time.ive installed equiptment over 30 yrs ago still going.also had to replace cheap furnaces after 5 yrs,because customer is just trying to get by all the time.i always install extra large oil filters so I don't have to blowout lines and clean carbon out of the gun assemblies.many customers think they save by waiting til stuff breaks.extra large microflow filters stop all the sludge from getting by,the oil flow will stop going thru filter before lines,strainer,or nozzle get dirty.then you can get multiply years between services,but I don't tell customers that.fb-4,small genral just can filter just not enough for stopping sludge if not regulary serviced.i know a lot of tech's using car style garber,but found 700 better for me.newer bottom feed tank with twist on [garber] too low to ground to not make mess,plus they always get over tightened by the diy customers.if the customer was younger id say message back,id send video or pics of my 33 yr old furnace and twin 330 tanks.still smh a home is somebody's biggest investment in their life and skinp a couple hundred buck's up front to loose thousands down the road by installing the cheapest machanicals.

I bet there was something wrong with that valve closest to the tank not letting anything through. The tank would have to be half full of sediment to block 20 psi
@albertmueller66163 жыл бұрын
@@ohger1 Probably was bad those old gate valves go bad also. But I could guess the valve may if not bad may have been clogged itself.
