I had a gas drier with squeeky wheels. It sounded like the torture of a small rodent. I paid a serve guy to put them in. Between parts labor and mileage the bill was about half cost of a new drier. When they started to make noise 2 years later I just replaced the appliance. It was about 15 years old at that point so I figured it was due. If I knew how to get the case apart to get at the rollers making the noise I would have just changed them myself. It is a roller afterall and not a gas valve.

I replaced the wheel bearings on my 1999 Maytag, mine started rumbling and squealing at about 15 years too. Took me about an hour and cost under $20 including shipping. Now that I've done it once it'll take me half the time if I ever have to do it again. Next time check here on the tube first, you might get lucky and see how to DIY.

Oil burner vids in August. Gotta love these systems that heat domestic water with a big ass boiler. 😊. My brother's place in VT has that, with a tank I think.

Ohhh shit he said when they come with tablet LMAO! So true!!! I have a Beckett genisys and this morning it ran outta fuel, got some fuel and bled it and noticed it's got some fuel very very slowly seeping down the seal. I can send you a picture of where it's seeping from. It was put in, in December of 2016, had a tune up this past October and I got a quote for over $6k of work. I could get a new damn furnace for that! I never knew furnaces had to get tune ups yearly. And best believe the guy had the tablet! He said soot would need to be vacuumed out and due to me living in a trailer and the limited space to properly clean the soot out the furnace would entirely need to be taken apart.. that alone was quoted over a grand, a new electrode was like over $600, said there was tiny cracks starting in the combustion chamber, that was around $3k and some other things. My jaw dropped. It was $289 for a damn tune up. I feel for the "$89 fall tune up special" but in the tiny print it said oil burners aren't included in that special 🙄

AS the fan runs, could it be sucking in the oil into the tube ? The supply tube was leaking pretty bad.

As mentioned with the check valve , keeps the pump from losing prime, "But" its also supposed to stop all oil flow when the pump is not running which might make it drip out of the nozzle ,, if you oil tank is quite a bit above the furnace/boiler where gravity flow will push oil through a non operating pump thats why they put it in there.

Sure wish you were near Asheville, NC. I sure could use your expertise. No one around here works on oil furnaces. I have the same issue. One company does oil furnaces, but they sent a guy who changed the pump in 10 minutes, spilled oil everywhere and left. Still leaking. 6 years. Now leak is bigger.
