If its too much rain they suspend the race. But most of the time they just race in the rain, and its actually better for entertainment, makes the race unpredictable since its more likely that the drivers make a mistake

They're often thrown for accidents that leave lots of debris (can cut tires), or in very bad weather when drivers can no longer see each other. The race is put on pause until whatever condition caused the red flag is cleared, and then resumed by another grid start.

when a race is red flagged its stopped till all the cars are cleared up and then restarts unless there is a few laps left they finish the race

they almost always race in the rain. If the rain is bad enough and the storm doesnt clear up for 4 hours after the race start time then HALF the points are awarded to the drivers in qualifying order. More reason why qualification is so important.

F1 still race if it rains bc they have two different set of tyres for the rain one set if it’s raining lightly and another one for heavy rain but if the heavy rain tyres can’t run in the rain F1 either stops the race until the track is safe enough to race again if not then the race could get suspended
