12:03 clarification to those who don't know, this is because F1's governing body (FIA) changed the super license requirements to have a minimum age and drivers must have a valid driver's license in their respective country.
@NeoGeo822 Жыл бұрын
And this was never addressed before?
@3ormorecharactersmaybe5 Жыл бұрын
@@NeoGeo822Yes. If you wanna guess the last driver who got away before this rule was changed, it was Max Verstappen.
@multifandomnerd1328 Жыл бұрын
@@NeoGeo822 it wasn't ever a problem before, the FIA assumed that the rule of minimum points (a driver has to get a certain amount of points to be allowed in a formula 1 car, which can be acquired by scoring points in any other racing category) would be enough to keep younger, inexperienced drivers off the f1 grid. max managed to get enough points while still driving in f3. the FIA then immediately went on to change the rules. a driver now has to have the minimum amount of points, be at least 18, have a legal driver's license and a superlicense.
@mashy0001 Жыл бұрын
@@3ormorecharactersmaybe5 In fact, it was the sport's leadership reflecting on Verstappen's young debut which prompted them to introduce the minimum age. It wasn't that Verstappen was a problem in his first season (he was fantastic, 10/19 races in the points despite driving for Toro Rosso) but that they were worried about who else might try it.

Maybe Sir, with your experience don’t blame a rookie since you’re much more experienced and adjust. We all saw what you did! Also, Oscar saying McLaren thinks he’s ok when people also talk about him who could be a potential driver that could pair with Max in RB. I really wish all the best for him!

the reason they don't do the driver's meetings anymore is because it's the one space every race weekend where the drivers are free to speak their minds on any issues in regards to regulations, on track action, etc. the recording of those meetings made drivers afraid to speak up in case fans of different drivers took a problem with it, it just became another pr moment in the weekend
