I took all the tests TOEFL, IELTS, and DET. Personally speaking, I found DET less stressful and less time-consuming and was to register for it. I also recommend everyone to take DET as an English proficiency.

During the speaking section, it was evident you were reading a response that had been written out. This is not permitted. Your response cannot be prepared in any way and must be candid in order to receive a certified result. You must test again. I give thee times det but this reason to, test uncertified what should I do?

Thank you for sharing some helpful information! Had a hard time trying to make the DET app to use my external webcam instead of the bad quality built-in one. Finally got it to work, it was confusing because the app automatically used my external microphone but with a little adjustment of my laptop's settings, I can finally get to take a clear image of my ID. Also, I want a plushie! 😂💛

I was really looking forward to this test. I got an email today saying my test is invalid because "you looked away for an extended period of time". Now, the whole time I was literally glued to the screen, how could Duolingo say I was not? This is not fair. I will retake it in a few minutes, and honestly, I don't have high hopes that I will find a fair result from you.

A question for the DET team: I'm using a pretty wide monitor (55" diagonally) for my desktop PC. This means my eyes can't stay "centered" if I have to take the test in fullscreen mode. Is it allowed to do the test in a smaller window that only covers the center of the screen as long as I make sure that the mouse pointer never leaves this window?

Hi, great tips and explanation. One thing regarding the microphone, is there a sound test before the test begins? I have noticed in the practice test that during oral production my bar does not move, so I presume the mic is not connected to the test. Please advice on this. Thanks

Why every time my exam wasn't certified , i gave my best but also every time invalid my exam. I was really frustrated because i gave my best but always they uncertified my test. So how to improve it i know my grammar is not so good but, at least they have to give marks on it .

Hi, I followed all the rules. I had no external devices no pen or paper my eyes were always on screen and my ears were visible too. Why is my test invalid? I've read this online at so many platforms that people are getting scammed that way. Maybe I shouldn't have trusted.

My first attempt on Duolingo was 2 days ago, before starting the actual test when I lunched the application, and input my details, the next thing I get is " unknown error, please try again later". I tried a few times and still got same error, now I see a warning that this is my last attempt , I would have to pay again to continue. How fair is that?.😢

looks like the Chat support is not aware of these. I asked them if my setup was okay and showed them my setup. As per my doctor's instruction I use a laptop stand to keep it at eye level along with external keyboard, external mic, external speaker and wireless mouse. I told them I'm not going to switch during the test (quite unrealistic to switch as well). But they kept repeating "Do at your own risk". Can I get a clarification? Even if I stick to my external keyboard, wireless mouse, external speaker and external mic the test can potentially get cancelled? Even after following the rules?
