why would hiruzen spend his time to a flight risk ? the moment after Sasuke wake up from his coma because of tsukiyomi's trauma he has change into a "dark" child and after the massacre hiruzen was forced to make konoha still "look" strong to other hidden villages even after the massacre of uchiha clan. The least he could’ve done is told naruto and sasuke their fathers importance during the 3rd war and maybe even spoke to them briefly about their abilities and then taught them a few ninjutsu. It would’ve been impossible for sasuke to leave the village if he actually felt connected to it.

I know a lot of people throw Danzo under the bus (and rightly so), but we don't see much of Fugaku, who was plotting the coup against the Village. Really unfortunate that Danzo didn't at least let Shisui use his Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku before taking Shisui's eye for himself (which he didn't even use against the Uchiha anyways). I don't think Danzo really cared about protecting the village, I think he just wanted to empower himself, kill any who would oppose him under the guise of "protecting the village". Danzo is definitely evil, and I don't know why Hiruzen never saw it. Or maybe he did, but because they were "friends" and grew up together, he turned a blind eye to it.

I liked the Itachi twist when I first read the manga, but honestly it still makes no sense to me. You're telling me EVERY SINGLE UCHIHA, MAN WOMAN AND CHILD, were dead set on overthrowing the village? Like you couldn't have killed (or even imprisoned) the perceived leaders? I mean if Itachi and Shisui were on the village's side SURELY there were a few others who either agreed with them or respected them enough to switch sides. I mean killing EVERYONE seems a tad overkill in my opinion. Even if you left a handful of them just to repopulate the clan (which would only benefit the village in the long run). A cool what if scenario- what if hiruzen entrusted Itachi with annihilating danzo and the root? I always thought it was weird that the uchiha police force existed along side the root and the jonin. He would’ve been a true double agent having killing danzo and then joining the akatsuki. In boruto it’s revealed the shins were created by Orochimaru which is how danzo got his arm. Itachi would have 100% hunted him down and killed him for experimenting on his kinsmen. The higher ups (hiruzen danzo etc), don’t know the real condition with Uchiha. Itachi knows everything, from his parents, from Shisui, from anbu, and.. from Obito (who sneakily enter Konoha without notice). The technology is limited only so far as to keep the theme of the anime. Before the 4th shinboi war it was shown that there was a transmission between the 5 great nations with very limited power due to the distance. Also in boruto they started the stupid trend with cell phones and such to be hip and trendy with muh cool tiktok kids. And also stupid technology where any kid can absorb any ninjutsu ever no matter how powerful. It's become ridiculous.
