Fantastic tutorial. I wonder if one day you could do an interview with yourself or somebody just as important regarding your knitting journey and how you reached the place where you are now. You are very clever and so popular, usually having a tutorial on something or other that is really helpful. This is my wish and I am sure I am not alone. Thank you for all your help.

Thank you for this great tutorial! I struggle with the duplicate stitch even though I usually can follow knit tutorials of all kinds. But your video is exactly what I needed since I was adding an “S” to a doll sweater. I followed you exactly and finally have success!

I am so glad you made this technique video I have often wondered how to do that so thank you. I have used a duplicate stitch to weave in the ends but didn’t know that’s what I was doing just liked the results. As you can probably tell I’ve never had a lesson just figured it out myself. U-tube and the web has been an eye opener for me. I’ve learned so much from your videos. So again I thank you.

Great tutorial! Thank you so much. I just started with a duplicate stitch pattern over the weekend for the first time. I knitted a cute little topdown sweater for my great nephew and thought of embellishing it with a tractor. I got discouraged halfway through because it didn't look right. Actually, it looks pretty sloppy!!! After watching your video I decided to undo it and start over!

Maria I am glad the video was helpful, sometimes starting over is the best option. I'm sure your nephew will enjoy whatever you come up with, a tractor sounds very fun!

For me it seems to work easier if you start left under and work to the top. The stitches in the straight lines from bottom to top will look less bulkier and the middle part will work far more easier because your hand is not in a lefthanded modus .

Great tutorial, thanks. Quick question. On your finished product, do you work your duplicate stitches before or after blocking? And for which type of blocking; Steam blocking and Wet blocking; if it's different.

@SuzanneBryan9 ай бұрын
Are you talking about duplicate stitch, or embroidery, like a back stitch. If embroidery, I like to put a backing to the fabric, like a tear away interfacing, to give the knitting some support. Definitely try it on a swatch first,@@marianneknapp4846
@marianneknapp48469 ай бұрын
@@SuzanneBryan yes Embroidery in cursive letters I'm kind nervous with all the movement of the knit fabric if I put it on a hoop and take it off could be wrong I trying to put her name down the pant leg in a larger font im really unsure?Thanks again 😘💗

When you are stitching from top to bottom in a straight line, why can't you just catch the legs of the colored stitch above it instead of the legs of the stitch underneath so that you don't have the bleed through?
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
You could, but then you would see the duplicate stitch yarn crossing under the legs of the previous stitch. Try it on a swatch and see how it looks.

How does one do duplicate stitch left-handed?
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
The same way you would with your right hand, but be sure that the needle is always going in the correct direction. That is what is important, the direction of the needle while creating the duplicate stitches.
