BUT, for your better half to have kept up with that tiny little ROCKET (true analogy) is something that amazes me. Why? Because I know what it takes to capture such things on video, and NEWS FLASH...it ain't easy! Great history behind the development, employment, and effectiveness of this unique little ship, and great flight presentation. I've already alluded to the incredible videography by Heidi. Horizon Hobby, Motion RC, Bitgo Hobby, et al. (BTW, that's Latin for "and others") would do well to see what an awesome team Adam and Heidi are in bringing us informative, entertaining, and enjoyable RC airplane review videos. Definitely one of the best RC channels out there on KZbin! Hey Stuart, take note, you've got some great folks putting out incredible content on your behalf...Please thank them! Adam thank you so much for the kind words. When we do a review, we do an actual review my friend...not a 5 min flight with not much info at all and call that a review. Reviews should be informative, educational, entertaining (we hope..lol), and thorough. We try to make the content we have always wanted to see. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know we're doing just that! Yeah the combination of small prop, a ton of rpms, and a bunch of holes that happen to whistle in a really cool way give it a very entertaining sound.

Great video as usual, great looking and flying plane. One thought that occurs is that the dolly 'mounting point' is ahead of the C of G. I noticed you had to add 1oz weight to get C of G right at 85mm from leading edge. It might work out that if you opt to fit the (inexpensive) servo magnet release, to some extent at least, the weight of that might offset the amount of parasite weight needed. Given the potential hassle of a broken prop if the dolly releases over a bump, the magnet servo could just make sense to fit regadless (plus you could then have fun using the dolly as a 'hit the target' drop device ha ha)
@ModelAV8RChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Mike. That is a good idea, although the mounting position for the servo release is well behind where I have the ballast. I suppose it would help some though. I will say it flies different with the dolly on board as we found out when it got stuck because we didn't blow the debris out of the channel once. Very controllable still, but I wouldn't say pleasant.
@mikeonb4c2 жыл бұрын
@@ModelAV8RChannel Yes I suspected you might not want to fly it for long with the dolly on - must be why the Germans dropped it ASAP ha ha. Be interesting to see what the weight penalty ends up being for the release servo and how it negatively affects wing loading. Great videos - keep 'em comin' 👍

Very cool review of a very cool and unique aircraft, Adam. Durafly are on a bit of a roll at the moment with their offerings... I do wish they would cough up some spares for the Me109, though! Great review. I've got a bumpy grass field so I held fire on this till hobbyking had wheel servo in stock. As of this week they have so just ordered the plane and the servo. I've got about 20 flights of the zohd alpha strike under my belt, so I'm hoping I can fly this. I'm assuming that the cog measurement is with the dolly not in situ. I guess that will make it nose heavy until it is dropped with the servo switch ?. I can't open it till Christmas as my partner paid for it as my present. Happy flying. Andy in uk.
@ModelAV8RChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy. Yep the CG is without the dolly. It is a bit nose heavy with it on but it will fly fine. Mine got hung once and I just brought it around and landed fine. One suggestion - However you hold the gimbals on your TX (thumbs, pinch, etc.) assign the dolly drop to a switch you can hit without taking your thumb/fingers off the controls. That way you can easily drop it as soon as you break ground.

Great review of the Komet V2, Adam. It is so sad that one of the greatest times of aviation advancements came when the world was trying to destroy each other. I think Stuart has some good ideas about saving weight in several of the planes trying to make the flying experience better like with the big Lancaster. Now where did I put that red Krylon can?
@ModelAV8RChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Tony. You know that is how it's always worked. WWI was actually the biggest jump in tech. In four years aviation advanced twenty years according to experts. War, and the treat of it bleeds invention. I like what Stuart is doing. There are often times gimmicky "features" on a lot of foamies that just add unnecessary weight.

@ModelAV8RChannel2 жыл бұрын
@@mostlymissiles Yeah man you have to calibrate a lot of esc's so they know the endpoints of your tx. The standard calibration is as follows - 1. Turn tx on and put throttle to full throttle. 2. Plug plane up with throttle cut off, you will hear a series of beeps, the second that series of beeps stops put throttle to idle. The esc will I now arm and is calibrated. Couple of things - this is a one time thing, it will stay calibrated. Do this with the throttle trim all the way down. Always take the prop off anytime you are arming a plane on the bench. Hope this helps. You shouldn't have to replace the esc.
