Great job, I'm watching from the beginning! For harness isolation better would be wiring fabric tape, than standard electric isolation tape I suggest :) Better looking, and high temperature resistant.

I'll be interested in seeing the transmission shifter set up and connecting the rear and front drive shafts. I didn't have too much trouble with the drive shafts on my Cummins conversion, but I did have to change transfer case yoke and have a new cap welded on the rear drive shaft to fit the U joint and have it shortened 1 1/2" and rebalanced. The front was easier, relocating the pillow block and using the Humvee shaft but changing the transfer case end to a flange to mate up to the 241DHD case. I'm still working on a set up to use the Humvee shifter but make it work with the 47RE transmission. I might have to use a cable set up instead of the rods. I am wanting to use an Allison 1000 6spd with a Cummins on my next conversion.
@SplitBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Man that Allison with the Cummins is ultimate!! Yeah this shifter setup is going to be difficult I think, I’m not sure yet about any of that.
@fiero112 жыл бұрын
I love watching your videos. The Duramax/ Allison conversion is a very popular set up these days. If it weren't for the electronics and cost, I would try one. I'm interested in seeing how you get the fuel tank in. The Allison is so big, most put a fuel cell or the auxiliary fuel tank kit in the rear of the truck behind the rear differential.

You're doing a great job. But I have a question, can you weld? I'm asking because if the the cross member only has one mount for the transmission, what stops you from cutting off the original mount and fabbing out a new mount and welding it to the original cross member.
@SplitBuilds2 жыл бұрын
You could absolutely do that, it’s just a lot of extra time which is what I’m the shortest of always.
This is their eBay store. They have a phone number in the description
@dalechristensen36402 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you did this already, but why don't you go out to your side yard and get the slip yoke off of the the drive shaft you tossed on your donor truck. That should slide into your transfer case.
@SplitBuilds2 жыл бұрын
I sold the duramax drive shaft months and months ago separately, it wasn’t on the donor truck
